camber kits
im sorry if i missed anything im any posts about this but spent a good day researching on the forum.
how low can you drop the z before i need a camber kit. im looking at doing the KW varient 3 and dropping the car about 1.5"
ive read that anything over a half an inch needs camber kits and a whole bunch of other stuff. i just want to know what the actual number is so if i need to buy them i can.
thank for the help sorry if i missed it in any posts

With 1.5" drop you'll need a camber kit. You may get away with the fronts and just have to buy the rears. I know with my current 1.5" drop for the front i was able to get it back in spec w/o a camber kit.
There is no magical number as every Z can be a little different and can suffer from alignment issues with factory suspension as is. That said, SPE22 is probably about right probability speaking amongst all the Z owners I have seen. Drops of about an 1" drop and you'll probably be fine but there's no telling 100% without dropping it and taking it to an alignment shop.
If you research past post's, going back to 2003, like it or not, among car's that drop past 1" and actually see the alignment rack, the majority without correction parts fail to be within oem alignment specs.
Some of those owners, did not bother with front correction because of cost and the feeling that they weren't that far out of spec. If the possiblity of having to buy new tires more often doesn't sit well with you, buy front and rear correction.
At the very least I would purchase the SPL rear kit that has arms and SPC toe cam bolts.

i was leaning twords the front and rear camber kits just because i dont want to chance it and if theres anything ive learned with the Z if you dont do it right the first time its not worth it. thanks for the help im gonna get the front and rear camber kits. save myself the headache

My little addition to this thread... I'm dropped on S-tech springs(which drop about .8") w/ OEM struts.. and with this simple set up, I'm already seeing the slight camber change. It's bearing on the inner treads of my tires... so I'm putting on the camber kits (front and rear) to save me future headaches of changing tires constantly. It's true, all cars are different, but there's nothing wrong with being safer than sorry...

thanks, i was also searching for threads about camber and lowering, just quick question to add. would you guys say its the same rule of thumb with the stock shocks when it comes to lowering the car? meaning there is no set number and it depends on each vehicle? or is it recommended to get after market struts if lowering lets say about 1.0 inches? ill search on that too but if you guys have insight on it id appreciate it
