Default My short review on Stoptech Stage 2 kit (brembo calipers)

I would say the kit is about 60% improvement over the stock setup. No it is not an exaggeration as I was able to attend track days (circuit) and run both stock and the upgrade kit in the same suspension, tyres and track setup.

As many have claimed initial bite is improved and I can confirm this absolutely true.
I am able to slow from 130 down to 50mph with confidence now, in shorter distance. In fact with the Stoptech, the stock tyre setup could not even hold on anymore in some occasions, causing the steering wheel to slightly shake and the ABS to trigger.

Brake fade resistance is big improvement. I was able to finish all 3 sessions (20 min each session), experiencing moderate brake fade only at the end of 2nd session. With stock brake setup, brake fade occurs at the end of my first session.

The ULT pads are kick-*** compared to the stock. I still have plenty of pad life after the whole session. My stock pads only lasted well… only 1 track day!

For a basic but very reliable track-day upgrade, Stoptech Stage 2 kit is definitely recommended.

I give it a 10/10 score

Be careful with those ULT pads, they arent really up to track day use and are prone to creating vibrations if they overheat. If you plan to do more tack days, do yourself a favor and invest in some real track pads and keep your Axxis pads for daily driving.

gotcha. thanks for the tips!

i understand the the ult's aren't made for hardcore track days but imo they did pretty well for street/light track pads. they held up pretty well for about 30 mins before they started to fade slightly. good thing we had 15min break for every session.

how about the hawk pads then? any recommended brand/compound?

It depends on your car, the track you are at, the tires you have and your ability, but you cant go wrong with something like Hawk DTC70 front DTC60 rear. We use and recommend them to most of our cusotmers that track and race their cars and almost never hear back with any issues.
