Another question about Stance...
Cant seem to find an answer to this. But before I decide which to go with I want to get everything answered. Do the OEM set up drop just as low as the true coilover set up? Up to how many inches can you drop your car on either OEM set up or True Coilover set up? Are they the same just different in design?? Stiffness is also key for me. I still would like a comfortable ride. Not too stiff and OEM set up does that correct?
Im leaning towards te OEM set up but want to get opinions from everyone who owns a set. Also do the wheels have to come off when adjusting the height of the car? And when adjusting the rear stiffness when installed, how is that possible to get to the ****? I had the Tein Flex on my 240 and it was easy to adjust the stiffness right inside the car. Thanks guys.

i look at it like this.
The oem setup was not designed for a true coilover rear.
why would you go and put one in if it is not meant for it..
do yourself a favor and stick with oem

IMO your shopping on price vs shopping for something that will really have what your lookin for in relation to the above quote. IMO, your setting yourself up for disappointment. I highly recommend that you find someone local that has a Stance coilover setup on his car and ask for a ride alone or maybe you can go to a 350Z local meet and get a ride along then, just a thought.
To answer the question about stiffness between the two stance products, (truecoilover rear vs oem location rear). We have to look at how much of the springs power actually makes it to the wheel to perform work, that amount is called wheel rate. In either case both rear location's do NOT leverage the same percentage of force to the wheel.
Stance GR+ with springs on rear dampner (true coilovers)
Spring rates 672/280
wheel rates 318/280 (notice that 100% of the rear springs rate makes it to the wheel)
Stance GR+ with springs in oem location
Spring rates 672/616
Wheel rates 318/259
So you can see how things differ vs a oem sprung car
2003/2004 oem 350Z
Spring rates 314/342
Wheel rates 149/144
2004.5/2008 oem 350Z
Spring rates 314/427
Wheel rates 149/180)
And so you can see coilover setups that are known for comfort.
Hks Hypermax III
Spring rates 504/504
Wheel rates are 239/212
Bilstein Pss10
Spring rates 370/420 (rear is progressive with a 240 initial rate)
Wheel rates 175/177
Tein CS
Spring rates 392/392
Wheel rates 186/165

Wheel rate Im not too sure I get it. Is it the same as if I were to compare stock set up (springs) to afermarket stiffness? But at the same time im also on a budget and I hear that Stance coils are not that stiff and can drop the car a ton, and they are also in my price range. I havent looked up the HKS Bilstein and Teins yet but I hear many good things about the Stance coils. Im just deciding whether to go OEM or true. Thanks for the info though.
