Default Sway Bars

Hey sorry if this has been discussed many times, but I tried searching it for it, and too many posts have came up regarding it. First off, I have an 08 Nismo 350z, and was wondering if there are sway bars included with it. If so, are they the same as stock? I am just wondering because a friend of mine just sold his z and he has the Nismo Sway bar kit that he purchased from thr Z store but never put it on his car. Would these make any type of improvement? Are they able to fit on a stock 08 Nismo? Lastly, what is the difference between the Nismo Sways that my friend has, and the Nismo racing sways? Both can be seen on the Z Store and its like a 420 dollar price difference between the two. Sorry for the longish post, just inquiring about it! Thanks!

Nismo Racing sways are probably stiffer, making for less roll resistance through turns.

I don't know what nismo sways your friend has, but there are likely better adjustable sways for your Z for less money. BTW Swaybars are usually intended for fine tuning handling characteristics, not simply maximizing the rigidity of your vehicle (although that is obviously part of their purpose). Don't buy adjustable sways and just put the max stiffness setting.

^Good website to compare some parts. I suggest you read up on car handling characteristics, and stuff before you spend lots of $$$$

Thanks for the reply! My friend has the sways that im assuming come on the s-tune nismo?? Or the R-tune?? Either way its something that replaces the stock sway bar. I was just wondering if the Nismo I have(which is the factory limited one, not the s-tune), has the same sway bars as a normal 350z. That was good reading from the wiki site. My friend is selling them cheap since he has no use for it, so I was just wondering.

s-tune suspension is different then Nismo I'm pretty sure... but you can just as easily research it as I can. Google s-tune swaybars, nismo 2### swaybars, rates, lbs, etc.

Honestly though, do coilovers or lowering springs/shocks first. Then once you get a GOOD feel for how the Z handles, purchase some swaybars with rates that would make it handle how you want it to handle IMO.

IIRC the nismo sways are a waste of money. It is only very slightly stiffer than stock. You are much better off buying something else like hotchkis sways that are adjustable. Besides, theyre not too expensive either

Nismo sways ARE a waste of money. Do yourself a favor and get the hotchkis bars...

Will be about $320 after shipping for the set.

Thanks for the quick replies everyone. I will pass on the Nismo sways. The Hotchkis bars look really good, and yes for the money, it seems very good. ALTHOUGH I will say that the cusco coilover suspension set looks wicked....oh decisions decisions!

IIRC the front nismo sway is the same diameter as the stock front sway...so you'd only be gaining ever so slightly on the rear. As others said get some Hotchkis or some 350evo sways and call it a day....they're so easy to replace also.

The specs I see everywhere for the Nismo front sway is 36mm, making it as large as all the other "biggest" front sways made for the Z. Is that not true?
