Those seem like a much better track coilover from Tanabe less than the 7s. TEAS Compatibility is nicer too.

I trust the tanabe quality A LOT more than the "other" stuff.

Not to go tit for tat but you mentioned Pro 5 and track use first, not I

I'm quite familiar with most of the coilovers on the market, as I've had a chance to use quite a number of them over the years. I know full well a TEAS isn't required for it - but you mentioned it in your post above, which is why I replied referencing it. With the TEAS and the coils themselves, it's in the range of 2 x the OP's stated budget

Retail on Pro 5 is $1390 BTW.

Sometimes there are differences between expensive and inexpensive coilovers...and sometimes there isn't. The list of what is and is not worth buying has not really changed much in the past several years - that's not by accident

My current set-up is bc racing.
I personally regret getting them, althought they were cheap..
The rears won't slam unless you take out a ring.
Spend $200 more and get some Stance LX+ or GR (true coilover setup).
You can't go wrong with them..
At least that's what i m trying to do..

I would completely recommend the BC coilovers. I have had Teins, Stances, and BC Coils on my Z and G. I am stoked on the BC setup! IMO The BCs are priced lower than they should be. I track my Z almost every chance i get and i don't think i will be able to ever out drive these coilovers.

If your looking to go for max drop all you have to do is call BC and they will tell you how to get it. You can go with shorter springs, and like prheemo said you can remove the lock rings in the rear. I had to do this on my G.

As far as the true coilovers in the rear i understand the benefit for a max drop, but our cars were engineered for separate spring and strut for the independent rear suspension. I would recommend for track driving that you go with the separate spring and strut.

^ Go to a Z meet in your area when one happen's and see if you can get a ride and drive from a owner that has them on his car. Hopefully you'll get a mix of smooth and not so smooth roads.

Im stuck on the same thing too i want to be able to drop my car. But at the same time have a good ride not something too stiff. I will be doing track at some point but not on a everyday basis. Ive narrowed my choices down to BC and stance. I wanted function & form but no one on this site seams to have these and i havent heard any reviews on them on 350z's

Dude, the BC's wont let you down. You'll be stoked on them for sure, I can speak for myself, 2 close friends, and Braille Batterys.

They kill it on the track and off......

hey guys,

long time member but lost my sign-in info recently. I was searching for info on suspension and found this awesome thread.

i have a 04 g35 coupe that is just dropped with Eibach prokit springs on OEM shocks & struts. recently, my tire BLEW OUT as i was refilling some air from it being flat. The wheel/tire guy said the reason is my camber probably wore the inside of my tire (front passenger) Anyways, long story short, i know that lowering my car with just springs wasnt good for my suspension and ive also noticed deterioration in ride quality so im looking for some suspension options with coils under 1000 being one of them.

so my question is, i def dont have the urge to "slam" my car any longer. I just want to be able to have decent ride quality with a bit of a drop (~1inch all around) and the ability to be able to get my camber to oem specs so i dont wear my tires so easily. which coil setup can accomplish this the best?

Here is a pix of my current set up.

a coilover setup will not help you get your camber back to spec. Purchase of SPC/SPL/Cusco front camber arms and some SPC rear camber arms/toe kit and install those. No need to swap out the springs unless you feel you need to change the ride quality and/or performance

let me give a bit more history. the car is an 04 with 40K miles on it so its pretty new. I basically switched to springs right away though.

I def feel the suspension is sagging. Besides just general feel, im not sure how to diagnoise/isolate the problem whether it be the eibach springs or the shocks.

im also not sure how bad my tires are but from my tire blowing out in my face, i think there are definite camber wearing issues.

if i find out my shocks are, in fact, worn what would be the best option for me. Replace shocks, keep springs, and get camber arms or just go with coils.

Nice looking ride bro. Honestly, it depends if you wanna be able to control you car and your suspension better. Coils are not gonna fix camber problems, the only benefit would be that you could adjust the ride height to a point where you could correct camber. If it were me i would just opt for the Coils and camber arms.

I have made the same mistake in the past, going with springs on stock shocks. If you drive your car hard then they wont last very long. It is never good to shorten the travel of the shock piston, and that is what lowering springs end up doing.

There is nothing that compares to having a good set of coils on your car. You will be able to push your driving and you car way further. In the end some coils give you the ability to have any ride height you want, and make the car so much more fun to drive.

I have had BC Racing coils on my Z for about a year now, and i wouldn't trade them for anything. I'm about to upgrade to there ER series and put these ones on the wife's G. I promise you, you cant go wrong with a good set of coilovers.
