Default Brake job on 07 350Z

I'm coming up on the first brake job on my wife's 350Z. I have done lots of brake jobs myself in the past but mostly on Fords and GM products. Are there any special tricks or tools required? Is there any more to it than unbolting the calipers, spreading the pads and then sliding the caliper away from the rotor? Will the rotor come off without special tools?

Thanks in advance for all help.

Additional questions.

Is it worth turning the rotors or just replace them?

Also any particular type of pads or brand that works better?

No special tools required like other cars. Two bolts on the caliper for the pads and two more bolts holding the caliper onto the hub.

I always turn my rotors when changing my brake pads. You can get them done for $5-10a piece at most shops. The rotors come off easily after removing the caliper off the hub. If you decide not to turn the rotors at least lightly sand them with a light sand paper enough to take off the glazed portions.

Brake pads: Endless Vita Nuova is the best pad I've used. Great stopping power, instant response and little to no dust. Cons: They dont have low wear sensors. These pads will never let you know when its time to change. Other than that its a great pad.

Hawk Pads: Current (2 weeks), so far its a good pad. Doesnt have the instant bite as the Endless, but after a few miles it works well. This pad is awesome for high speeds like the highway. Very confident feeling. Low dust and no noise.

Axxis Metal Matrix - Ok stopping, but no bite. Had to warm up before good stopping power. Stay away.

You got it, it is no different they any other brake system. Biggest tip is to make sure the e-brake is off for the rear rotors, and you will have to hit the old rotors VERY hard to break them loose. I took a piece of a 2x4 and put it on very edge of the rotor and used a mini sledge. Only benefit of the wood was it kept the noise down.

Thanks for all of the input here. Based on the pics in the DIYI link it looks just like Ford brakes. Right down to having to whack the rotor to get it off. I think I'm going to try the Hawk pads. I'll definetely turn the rotors.

There is a vendor on this site that offers front and back for a little over $110 shipped. PM me if you need the information.
