Need your opinion on my brake set up with 20 slot rotors!
Alright guys, what do you think if this brake set up:
1. 20 slot brembo rotors with poly matrix brake pads. (Factory non brembo rotor size)
2. Wilwood 4 piston calipers
3. Stainless steel brake lines.
My question is will my brakes perform much better than stock? I have tried out the 20 slot rotors on a couple of drift cars. They seem to love them. But on 240sx, not the 350z. I'm trying to save money by going with the stock size rotors and Wilwood calipers. I know it will look much better than stock, but will it out perform the factory brakes? What do you guys think if this set up?

Chances are, it will not outperform the factory system. If you are looking for performance, you can't just throw a mix of parts together and expect them to work flawlessly. Even big brake kits built specifically for the Z will not show much improvement vs. stock under street driving conditions (in terms of stopping distance). Big brake kits are designed to increase the thermal capacity of the system.
If you are looking for increased brake performance, try some StopTech steel lines, and different brake pads on the stock calipers. These will increase your brake feel and reduce dusting. The biggest improvement in stopping distance would come from some stickier tires. The stock tires are adequate, but something like a kumho ecsta MX, Toyo T1, or Potenza SO3 would make you much happier.
If you want looks, then a StopTech 13 inch kit would address the performance issue, and look sick as well.
Please keep in mind...brakes are a safety item,k and not a place you want to skimp on $. Throwing a jumble of parts together could compromise your safety, and decrease performance. I'd spend a few extra bucks (save up if you have to), and buy a proven kit. It will look perform and look better, and you'll have piece of mind knowing that your car is ready to stop when you are. Good luck.
