I have had my 04 z since new in the end of 03 and as of now it sits on 19s 8.5f
245/35 and 9.5 r275/30 pretty much standard. A few years ago I upgraded to the gf210s and once they completely settled I noticed the ride quality went to **** so I read on here its a matter of time before they blow out when used with lowering springs. So i bought tokico blues the inexpensive ones forgot if its the blues or hp's its been awhile. Many members said it was a good budget setup that worked fairly well. Once i replaced the ride was the same I feel every bump it just feels horrible.Corners very well but damn. Ive messed with tire pressure and even put stockers back on but to no avail helped a little but still persist. Alignment is within specs also.... Any thoughts

 

Is it just too stiff and you feel every little bump in the road or is it bouncy and all over the place? I ran this exact set up and really liked the feel.

 

Small point, but I thought 275/35 were standard fitment for rear 19s?

What brand tires are you running? That could be contributing as well...

sucks, but I was in the same boat with aftermarket springs that eventually ate up my shocks, but instead of taking a chance on tokicos or something else I just bit the bullet and went with Bilstein coilovers=excellent ride.

 

I can only offer my opinion based on a similar setup. I was running Tokico D-Specs with Hotchkis springs up until 2 weeks ago when the driver's front shock blew out completely after driving through a construction area on I-495 in Maryland. This was a pretty extreme situation (big change in height/level of asphalt), but these shocks only had 3 years on them.

To make a short story even longer , I had been noticing over the past few months a severe decline in ride quality - but nothing consistent. Some days the car fell jittery, other days it just felt plain stiff (as in no real dampening control at all), until finally I noticed the the car sitting a little lower up front just a few days before that shock finally went.

So basically, inspect the entire suspension now to make sure nothing is broken and make the investment in a better suspension package now if you can to avoid more problems.

Tokico shocks sell for about $275/4. Not to disparage anyone on a budget but how many reliable miles do you expect from a $275 shock?

 

Ride is going to be rough when you take away a lot of suspension travel on a car that has little travel to begin with.

 

Thanks for your replies guys. It feels too stiff. Like I said it corners very well but the bumps sometimes feel like theres no suspension at all. I understand lowered cars have alot less travel and stiffer springs to account for this but idk. Ive owned several lowered cars and it has a feeling of shocks when they're on there last leg but they have less than 7k on them. Oh yeah I'm running sessanta's with proper air pressure.

 

My suspension feels fine with the same setup. Very comfortable. I think it's your rear sidewall which is the problem.

 

I've had the same setup on mine for the past 15,000 miles and mine rides great. It wasn't until I put 19s on that I noticed a difference in ride quality
