Went to change my brake pads today and noticed the bottom bolt was snapped on the calliper. I didnt do it while trying to take it off...it was already snapped and seems to be the source of a slight rattle I had coming from the rear passanger wheel. My question is....

Is it safe to ride around with just the top bolt holding the caliper in place? Just untill I get the new bolt.

Where can I look up a parts diagram to find the part number? Im pretty sure they wont have these in stock so I will have to order so I might order over the phone.

How do I go about removing the peice that is still stuck in the threaded part?

Hell no, it's not safe. Just take your top bolt, go to the Auto Parts store, and they can give you one. They are all pretty standard. Head of the bolt should be 10, 12, or 14mm.

Click on the first picture. See the bronze/goldish and gunmetal colored things in the middle? Go to your car, and pull that out of your caliper bracket. There are two of them, one on the top, one of the bottom. The bolts screw into them, so just go to the auto part store and get two of them. They sell them in pairs. Remove the rubber ring and put it on the new ones, then push them back into their respective slots on the caliper bracket.

Can you get a picture of the part the bolt is snapped off in? From what you've described, it sounds like the bolt broke off in the pin, so you need to pull both of the pins and boots off, take them to the auto parts store, and get two new ones, and two new bolts. The pin is what the bolt screws into, and it lines up behind the bolt holes on the caliper, and it should move out and in if you push or pull on it and the boot is the rubber piece that is on the pin. All you have to do it grab the pin and pull out on it, and it should come right out. Take the rubber boot off, and if the parts store doesn't give you new ones, put the old boots back on the new pins, then push them back in to their slots. If the bolt is broke off in the old pins, don't worry about it. You can throw the old ones away.

 

Critical element on a ride, the brakes, you know. Now go a step further and get ALL the bolts brand new. If one snapped, the rest may follow suit soon, dude!
