Need help with Coilover choice...
I am in the market for a set of coilovers. I have been searching the site and have read coilover threads but I cant' really find the answer I am looking for. There are many great review on the products out there, but I guess I don't have the knowledge base on suspension to get enough out of the review to help make my decision.
Here is what I am looking for.
I have an 07 Nismo. I love the ride of the nismo suspension, but I would like to just lower the car slightly to get rid of the wheel gap. I don't track my car and don't really have plans to, but I do like to go on rides on the local mountain roads. I would like the ride to be about the same as the nismo, but a little stiffer wouldn't be a bad thing. I do want dampening adjustment also. I have had lowering springs on different cars before, but I want something I can dial in a little more the way I want it then that. My Z is my daily driver so I need a set that will last. I also want them to be quiet. If all that isn't enough, I also dont want to pay out the nose for them either.
Any suggestions would be great and very much appreciated.

some of the nismo owners might give you hell for not tracking a Nismo.
I kinda am looking for the same. Would like to lower the car some more and still ride decently. No need for an all out track setup.

any you would suggest. the ones in my price range 1000~1500 seem to get mixed reviews. some say they love them, some say they are junk. i saw a guy on here selling a set of stance for 900 with 1500 miles. i am no sure about buying any use suspension products but they new ones arent too high.

First, set a budget. If your budget is small (less than 700), you could either get really crappy coilovers, or you could get a nice set of lowering springs and pair them with some adjustable shocks like tokico dspecs. If you can afford more, then there are many options available. Do a little searching on the forum, theres plenty of helpful threads on this subject

Bilstein PSS10 work well - lots of adjustment for dampening and height, and they are extremely poised, well balanced, zero noise, offices on both coasts, and no made in god knows where quality or design issues. KW V2 would also be in a similar vein. Not quite as much dampening adjustment, and the adjusters on the Bilsteins themselves are alot easier to use. Both are similarly priced.
If you can step the budget up a bit, Cusco Zero2, but there would be a ~2 month wait time for them. From there, it gets progressively more expensive

I have the Tanabe Fives with the TEAS. . . .
They have been on for a month or so. . .I move from Cobb springs/sways with the stock suspension to the Tanabes - on an 08 ZR
no track time but done a couple of autocrosses and hit the drag strip once. . . I think that they are a big improvement, they have a huge amout of adjustment especially with the TEAS controller - (OMG it's the greatest thing since the remote control on the TV) - open the cubbie change the suspension - and it changes instantly - Nice for dialing in changes based on the conditions - made it really easy at the drags to soften up the rear end so it would squat nice. . .
In my case the the TEAS was required - on the roadster the only way to adjust the rears would be to remove them - make the adjustments and then reinstall. . . no access to the top of the struts.
It was a little hard to locate them but I found them from one of the vendors here -

I thought that the 7's might be a little to harsh for average driving and availability was several months down the road - so I opted for the 5's which were a bit dificult to find too. .
Performance wise I'm sure that there is a difference - but my thought is that its at the track. . .for me it didnt really matter that much - I dont think I'd use all of its capabilities. . . .the guys with the graphs can probably give a technical explanation of all that stuff . . . .
The 5's offered maybe a more civilized version of the 7 - and somethng that was more in line with what I was looking for - settings vary from 1-16 and i usually leave it on 5 - which is a firm ride - but not so much that make you wince when you hit a big bump - the lowest setting is kinda like stock - set it on 16 and its way stiff - and to just push a button to change it. . . gotta love technology. . .

Really... and here I was hoping the lowest setting would be a little cushier than stock... (for most commuting you don't really need a ride as stiff even as stock.)
