Proloading H&R Coilovers - Question regarding adjustments
I apologize in advance, as some of this is a repeated topic. I've read dozens of threads here and google but I just wanted to confirm that I did the right thing. I've just finished installing H&R coilovers.
To give some background, H&R's are progressive springs, the rear spring sits in the OEM location, and the struts require re-use of OEM mounts.
For the rear, I did not change the original perch setting (set by H&R). I simply installed it as-is onto the OEM location.
For the front, I had to turn the perch to it's lowest setting in order to install the OEM mount on top of the strut. [pictured below] I completely tightened the upper mount, then adjusted the perch to the desired height. Then I installed the strut onto the vehicle.
Although I've read a bit, I'm still not 100% on this preload thing. Was what I've done a preload? I'm reading that if done incorrectly, it could affect the ride quality. The coilovers seem to be a bit bouncier than expected. This would be more related to the dampener adjustment, not the spring, right?

they are 1 way height adjustable - the only way to set height is via preload. More preload, yes, will cause bounciness.

Preload doesn't increase spring rate. It increases the force required before the suspension will move.
Curious, the springs with that kit look pretty progressive to me.
Can you please take pictures of the springs with the current preload levels?
What is your ride height right now vs oem, how much lower are you?
