Jason I will confirm they are both identical and both do adjust much further past the OEM bolts. The Raybestos and AC Delco bolts are basically identical to the SPC bolts, but priced much lower. OEM bolts adjust approximately only 1.5 degrees plus/minus. Slotting is required for the full range adjustment with the new bolts. However, the OEM toe bolts are perfectly fine to keep you in spec of +0.08" if you are only lowering no more than 1.5" in the rear. Also, for anyone looking to slot, buy the right angle attachment for the Dremel, the flex handle extension suggested by others still gets in the way. And get the carbon steel cutting blade, it will cut the slots much faster than the regular steel cutter bit. As for attempting to use sanding wheels instead, it will cost you more buying a bunch of sanding wheels to handle the job versus just buying the $8 bit.

I am lowered in the rear with hotchkis springs (19mm drop), and the AC Delco bolt bottoms out at exactly -1.0 degree on the alignment machine. Which I can safely say that anyone lowering up to 1.5", the camber bolts will be enough to stay within the 1.6 degree factory specs. But for anyone going 2.0-2.5" slammed look, I suggest the camber arms and one set of these bolts for the toe.

I recently got my alignment redone after installing ICHIBA camber arms. I was going to install the toe bolt as well but like you stated, my dremel didn't give me enough room and I didn't know about the angled extentions prior to this. Plus the DIY template i printed was too big lol...

Well i am currenty lowered on Tokico Sport springs (the ones off D-spec) and I was able to barely get into spec w/o the toe bolt. I saw how adjusting camber affected the toe. The alignment guy was trying too hard so I told him I honestly don't mind some negative rear camber to get in-spec toe.

I ended up with -1.7 of camber and .10 degrees of toe.

and yes! i have noticed that with access in dremeling the toe location "Doctors pill" slot bigger....

With a normal dremel tool, no attachments, etc you must drop the oem exhaust in order to gain access............

I dont like the DIY - spc toe bolt install thread - "made by protocav" because that guy is using the flex extension but he has an aftermarket dual can greddy exhaust......

people quickily find that room is tight down there if they dont have an exhaust thats out of the way.......

The oem exhaust has an air diffuser on the front forward facing side that gets in the way.

I have done about 5 or 6 of the SPC toe bolt installs and have elongated that "doctors pill" slot bigger many times......I don't even care if peeps even have the template anymore, i just mimic the identical curvature of the radius and go out a few milimeters as i remember it....... lol...

blah, I only have 60k miles on my z, the alignment shop had trouble getting the bolt loose and I had to come back another day when a bigger guy was there, and now they are telling me I need a new bolt.

Pretty frustrated, I don't know much about toe bolts but the same shop did the last two alignments, and now there is a problem after some kid still in school couldn't get it loose.

I guess I'll put one of the AC delco bolts on and bring it back for a free alignment.

I got someone to install my toe bolts.. but they elongated the camber bolt slots instead of the toe bolt slots. Is it possible to just elongate the toe hole now, swap the two sets of bolts so that the original bolts are back in the camber slot, or do I need to pick up new toe bolts?

 

So let me get this straight, we're saying the stock toe bolt can be used (just) if you're staying under a 1.5 inch drop on the rear?

Or does it require grinding out the slot on the OEM before that will work?

Nice find, I just ordered these from rock auto. Shipping was $10 and some change the total came to $38.72. As soon as these show up its time to do some trimming and then put on the coilovers.

1. Yes, you can put the oem bolts on at the camber location and then go elongate/cut the correct toe location and use the aftermarket bolts where your supposed to - at the toe location.


2. Your best bet however is to get lock out washers at the camber location and buy a camber arm for your adjustment needs.

stock toe bolt will adjust toe within the factory range with factory spec wheel sizes (ie, overall diameter and width-use a tire calculator via google search) given your car isnt dropped lower than about 3/4" to "MAYBE" 1.5".....


You do NOT grind, cut out the doctors pill with the oem bolt, you grind out the aluminum sub frame slot/doctors pill location only when your installing an aftermarket higher degree toe bolt is used due to the car being ridiculously lowered or ridiculous huge azz wheels and widths are used...

Quick question do these bolts still have the same 5 degree issue as SPC.... I am assuming yes.

 

^ pretty much all of them that i have seen do.....they are all just cheap steel stamp punches that are not of high tollerance to the bolt size...

I just got the AC Delco bolts. They seem to have a very tight snug fit (Bolt & Washer). Not sure if the the 5 degree occurs after installation and driving on it. I will be installing these soon to provide feedback on how they stand up to daily driving.
