Did they tell you to dis-mount the calipers and hold them in a vertical position to fully bleed them? That's what you have to do to get the last pockets of air out. Gave the calipers a light tapping with a rubber mallet as well to help work the bubbles out.

Definitely Newcastle...Eric, now you need some wheels to show those brakes off a little better.

Always remember that the first step to working on a car is to open a beer...

When working on critical systems, such as brakes, sometimes it's best to leave that to one of the last steps.

ive got an extra $800 worth of whys, not to mention, imho a 6pot system is going to be a waste, I dont run R-compound tires, so the car is only going to stop so fast before locking(or ABS kicking in) these 4 pot brakes stop like MAD i think they'll do just fine. If Im going to do anything else to the brakes it will be to upgrade the rears to stock brembos. Other than that the setup i have now will be GREAT at the track

I was thinking more for heat.. I boiled my brake fluid at my last track day (last Friday oct 24) I was not out on the track too long but I was pushing just about as hard as I could out on the track and the scary thing was the car gave me no warning..

hit the brakes hard made the final turn.. on to the front strait in to turn one.. I hit the brakes and nothing... pumped the brakes nothing...

I drove the car off the track and it slowed down in the grass no problem and with no damage to the car... but at some tracks it could have been a big deal... Now I was on stock fluid which I know better then to trust it and if I was at a different track I would have already changed my fluid.... but it is still something to think about

Make sure you post how the brakes do on the track and if some one there has, a Pyrometer be sure to get the temp of your calipers and rotors and post them

My Calipers were at 300F and rotors about 400F after a cool down lap and the time it took me to find something to measure the temp with.. so that is after a cool down lap and about 10min or so

I think you got those things on backwards....
The outboard edge of the slots should hit the pad first i.e. the slot should 'lean forward' when roatated to the top.

Hmmmm.... You had us going for a while!

I'm not certain that there is a right way and wrong way; I found examples of both ways. Comments and advice are welcome. The pics Eric posted above seem pretty definitive to me, but you never know.
