Brake Upgrade – Street Stage 1 & 2
Before posting my question, I did some searching, but couldn’t quite find what I was looking for…so here I am. My brakes are squeaking, pads have roughly 40% left, but my front rotors have a nasty lip = time to go!
I live in the Northwest, it’s wet and brakes are a very important component for me. I have a 2003 Touring, all factory brakes, non-Brembos. I’ve seen in the marketplace section Street Stage 1 and 2 brake kits that are roughly within my price range.
I NEED rotors, I’d like to purchase Hawk Pads, and steel braided brake lines would be a nice addition.
I don’t track or race the car, it’s simply my daily driver.
For those of you who have been here, spent the $$$, what did you do and what advice can you toss my way.
Much appreciated-

Agreed w the above. I purchased rotora circuit breaker front rotors and
lost stopping power (imo). Stick with the blank oem's (or grey markets)
and a fresh set of hawk pads. Install the lines on all four corners.

At the time, I got a set of slotted rotors and Axxis ULT pads from 88rotors, braided lines also from one of the distributors on this marketplace who I can't recall, dot3 fluid and DIY install for less than $380 all four corners. Cheaper cost is possible if you look harder still. If you get cheap rotors like I did don't forget to spray paint them carefully or else you'll get rust on the rotor hats. It has been almost 2 years and the pads still have lots of life left. The setup looks and works beautifully. I just checked them last week changing my tire setup back to summer tires. Works great on the street and I'm a little bit nuts behind the wheel, especially getting to work in time. If anyone has questions feel free to ask.
