Do I NEED a big brake kit?
My current go fast mods: AEM CAI, DC Sport Headers, Berk HFC's, Stillen Y-Pipe, Greddy Ti-C.
Future go fast mods: Motordyne MREV2, Motordyne Spacer, ECU Reflash/Dyno Tune.
I have a Touring Roadster ('06 REVUP). I drive normal most of the time, sometimes I get aggressive, but I have no track plans for my car in the future.
Should I get a big brake kit? Try to find some OEM Brembos? Or save the brake money and apply it toward the wheels/suspension I'm trying to gameplan for?

if you aren't tracking, and you already have the 06+ brakes, don't waste your money.
honestly not worth it unless you intend on tracking, imo. if you had the 03-05 brakes like I unfortunately do, then I might consider it worth while, but eh.

Not even worthwhile if you don't track.
Just upgrade pads, rotors, brake fluid if you want to be completely comfortable with aggressive daily driving. Anymore than that and it's just jewelry.

This is one of those questions that if you have to ask, then you don't need it. If you knew the reasons why you would NEED bigger brakes, then you wouldn't even have to ask. What you're really asking is "do I have a reason to justify buying a BBK?"
power has absolutely nothing to do with brakes believe it or not - brakes are about 2 basic things - weight, and grip
if you track the car, or find yourself doing repeated higher speed stops, then a proper BBK by a reputable manufacturer is a very worthwhile mod. If you're into the show scene, that too is as good a reason as any. If neither applies to you and you just want it to have it, that's cool too. If none of the above, you really have no reason to consider it

There are tons of stuff we do in our lives that we don't "need" to do. Same applies to how we mod our cars. I know I don't need a BBK but I like them (Looks). However with my current financial stand I cannot justify that cost for looks. All I am saying is much of what we do depend on affordability and other priorities
I think he means that simple bolt ons will allow him to reach Bugatti-type acceleration and top speed. In that case, yes, you need it.
Your roadster with those mods will be lucky to keep up with a regular coupe stock. The verts are pigs.
If you had another 300 horsepower then you would need it to help pull you out of sticky situations that you got yourself into. I find myself careless sometimes and forget how much faster I can accelerate and how much more speed I need to scrub off going into turns, because the turbo doesn't increase handling...

This is what I was looking for, thank you.
I was originally planning on doing EBC pads, power slot rotors, and just getting my rotors painted gloss black. Thank you for reaffirming my original plan.

As stated, you don't NEED a BBK. If you don't track, the OEM brakes do the job quite well.
