Default rear suspension help!!!

today I was installing my coilovers for my z. Did the fronts with ease..the rear was fine until I reached the passenger side. I was taking out the bolt for the lower control arm and notice ALOT of tension took out the bolt fine though and notice my threads were F*$KED. Went to home depot and bought a new set ( no biggie) everything was good until half way point into putting the bolt in noticing the bushing started spinning with the bolt. I looked inside and notice there was thread inside the bushing too!!, the bushing ending up cracking on me.. soooooo is there anyway i can just buy the bushing and get it replaced? or any help would work guys!!

here is a picture of what bushing im talking about it looks like apart of the spindle.

ouch....sorry man....

your best bet are a few things i can think of off hand:

1. SPL mono ball bushings - kinda expensive:

http://www.importpartspro.com/splrkbz33.html

OR

2. Nismo hard rubber bushings - for the rear.
-Rear lower control arm (spring arm) bushing (2 needed per car)
Found here:
http://www.mynismo.com/products/?id=5348

55158-RRZ30 - NISSAN 350Z 2003-2006 - Rear Lower Control Arm (Spring Arm) Bushing - $24.95
HOWEVER! I WOULD CALL AND ENSURE THIS IS THE "AT HUB" BUSHING, AS IT DOESN'T SPECIFY!! their other descriptions specify "at hub" or "at body"

you need the "at hub" as the "at body" one would be the one in the spring bucket arm itself.

UPDATE - option 2 is a no go, after some research i found that they dont make the one you need which is the same as the one for the lower shock rear mount at hub.

leaving the info, for future reference.

OR

3. Junk yard, purchase a rear spindle ~~ probably be about 100 bucks, and rent a ball joint remover tool or get a press and remove the bushing needed and install it in yours. If you got a rear spindle from a junk yard and took both rear spindles to a local mom and pop shop, you can probably get them pressed out for cash 30 bucks or something.

I would also like to note....the buying a bolt at home depot comment????

Home depot doesnt sell metric bolts. that bolt location is a M12x1.25 bolt that is 10.9 grade strength (nissan gold bolt) and i would guess about 70mm long.

Im guessing you bought a 1/2 inch bolt - which probably fit, due to your bushing being blown.....

home depot bolts are usually grade 5 at best. so please locate a correct length metric M12 bolt.

Thread pitch (1.25) doesnt need to be exact as you can us a different pitch there to accomplish the same task, but ensure you purchase at least a grade 10.9 metric M12 bolt.

Try a local ace hardware, true value (nuts and bolts) store, etc..
odds are you will most likely end up with a M12x1.75x70mm(length im guessing) bolt with lock nut.

as for lock nut, you want to get either what they refer to as "top lock nuts" or "prevailing torque lock nuts"
shown here:

once again, stock is a top lock 1.25 thread pitch nut. 17mm hex head flanged nut.

okay crap, looking at the nismo hard rubber bushing site and looking at the following chart, there is no arrow and number pointing at the one you need????

see here:

honestly, i would measure with digital calipers all the others on the rear spindle, and see if two aren't the same, and order accordingly. maybe item #4 or #6 are the same size and can be used.?????

if not then either junk yard or spl are your only options??
maybe SPL will sell you just the "one" you need on each side?

DUDE OP, you caught me while i have been doing my research on this very subject...see im looking to replace my rear shock mount.

well I must say, I got amazing customer service from kwame at Z1 auto.

Go to their site and purchase: W62535
R Control arm - lower outer W62535 1 Locates in hub.
R Shock absorber - hub W62535 1 Lower shock bush

See W62535, kwame confirmed that its the same exact bushing for the spring bucket outer "AT HUB" location, the one you are pointing at in your pic.
