Sorry I had to laugh at the picture it took me a minute because I was looking at the curb rash on the wheel then I was like Ohhhhhh... lol seriously tho I'd replace everything on that side you most likely bent the strut and more.

Call the insurance company and have the car taken to a different shop.

was insurance involved. If so contact the claims adjuster and get them out there as this should have been taken care before they released the car to you. Even if the body shop is no longer in business, the claim will still be covered by insurance,

I have a feeling he didn't involve insurance if he already replaced a part on his own already.

A buddy of mine was looking at this and thought the upper arm and frame mount were more than likely damaged. Also look at the Front Suspension Member.

yea, it looked exactly like yours. I had the control arm replaced and some other **** and when they were done, it still looked like that. A while later, had someone else look at it and they told me the strut was bent. Got strut replaced and it fixed the prob. It doesn't seem like a bent strut would cause it to look like that but that's what it was. I hit a curb straight on to cause it..

Looking at the suspension, I just don't see how the strut replacement affected the position of the wheel.

The position of the wheel is controlled by the following parts and the structure they mount to:
54524N LINK COMPL-FRONT SUSPENSION,UPPER
54469 ROD COMPL-TENSION,FRONT SUSPENSION
54501 LEFT LOWER CONTROL ARM
54400M MEMBER COMPL-FRONT SUSPENSION
40015 SPINDLE-KNUCKLE,LH

I assume what you're calling the strut is called a 56110KA shock absorber in the parts diagram.

The strut may have been bent, and they may well have replaced it, but they did something else to move the wheel back into its proper location if it looked anything like the OP's picture.

My guess is part number 54524N is bent, along with where it mounts. Take the wheel off and look around.

I'm still not convinced.

Here's a better picture of how the parts go together.

I'd bet they're calling one of the parts I listed above a strut, probably one of the two that attach to the bottom of the spindle/knuckle. Did you actually see the bent part that was replaced?

I think the most likely part to be bent is the 54469 ROD COMPL-TENSION,FRONT SUSPENSION. It's the one that would see the highest load when the tire hits something hard or gets hit hard. Also, it's already curved some to clear the tire, so it's going to be easier to bend when the ends are forced toward each other. If I didn't know exactly what it was, I'd probably call it a strut, too.
