Default i have a problem. please see pic.

this happend in an accident i had back in january. i had put the nismo 2 bumper on and had noticed but i honestly thought it was the bumper that just made it seem that way but when a couple months later i put original back on i noticed there was something really wrong. with the previous bumper the other side also had a gap in case some might wonder y i didn't look. just wanst until original went on to actually see. got car on the lift we saw lower control arm was bent so i replaced it yesturday and still no fix. im gonna order the rear lower control arm for front this week hopefully that works...any other ideas?

I assume you're talking about the wheel being offset toward the rear. That must have taken quite a hit. How badly were the suspension parts bent?

If the arm was bent that badly, wouldn't one assume that the mounting point for that arm on the subframe be bent also? Your alignment has got to be f'd.

Damn! How is that even drivable??? The front end has got to be totally out of alignment. Didn't you notice it pulling or grinding of fron tires?

30-35MPH is still goin' at a speed to cause some serious frame/suspension damage.

Amazed you can't feel something wrong while driving. G/L

I hate to say it but one of the major weaknesses of the 350z is the suspension strength. I have seen several cars that have hit curbs at low speeds, gotten off sideways into mud or just run off the road and hit minor debris that all have resulted in screwed up suspension components. Aluminum makes the suspension and car light, but it also makes the suspension weak and easily bent in any kind of incident.

If the other side is centered, try putting the front of the car on jack stands and removing the front tires.

You should be able to look at the suspension parts on both sides and determine what part(S) are bad.

wow............

I would just replace all arms on that side..........

translink
compression arm
front upper control arm

and
Inspect the spindle - determine if it needs replacement.

From there you would need to take the car to a lazer assisted body shop. have them check those points with the cars data...

Determine if the K member (translink mount) location is fine.
with the compression arm off, check the stud that hangs down on from the unibody for bent???

have the body shop check the laser points on the upper control arm mounts.

spindle is a weird one.. you would have to most likely see a pro to inspect it or it would be obvious damage? one or the other.. its hard to tell if its bent or not, as that arm is bent already...

also check the strut. if everything went back on that side the strut had to go with it...

Was an insurance adjuster involved in getting the car repaired after the accident? If so, I'd complain to him and/or his company. He missed a LOT of damage that should have been fixed along with the obvious stuff. He or his company should be liable for the costs of the repairs.

The body shop guys should have seen/reported the damage, too.

thats a mess in itself. the body shop which i thought i could trust went out of bussiness while my car was still in there. entire situation was a disaster.

wow! be vary careful man. When aluminum bends a lot it cracks too, so make sure you haven't got something cracked under their and about to come flying off!
