Tanabe Titanium Strut bar... Rare?
So I stopped by a local shop to see what type of stuff they do and they had a Tanabe Titanium Strut bar on a shelf. It was used and I asked about it and they said that it's only 1 of 3 in existance. They said they got it from a friend that used to work at Turbonetics. This thing is super light and even the mounts are Ti. anyone know anything about this? I didn't see anything on the website about it. http://www.tanabe-usa.com/chassis.asp
Maybe it was a prototype that was never produced. Sorry for crappy iPhone pics.

Or it could be ARC copied it?
Either way these are pretty rare indeed... Knowing tanabe they love to discontinue stuff. I remember hearing about these like years back. Hella old and rare... cool find! Would love to feel how it weights.
it somewhat looks like the current ones they have right now though. Except non colored...

And in Ti form... maybe they figured it costs too much to manufacture? and pulled it off?

If the weldment on a Ti part is cracking, it was improperly welded. And looking and the blue and purple contamination on the part pictured above I'm not surprised it cracked. A good weld on Ti should be silver or a light straw color. Gold, yellow, brown, blue, purple, or gray is a contaminated weld.

I have the ARC Ti one (old one with the silver ARC medallion).. I've had it for about 5 years now and have experienced no cracking.
The post from 2004 that 10-E-C-350Z posted was about someone who heard a comment about someone that saw some cracks on a product that was never even released/sold...
I don't ever recall ever seeing threads or pictures on actual cracks on any Ti strut bars but I guess this is how internet rumors get started

I got an ARC... and paid a pretty penny for it, 400.00 is solid.
