I bought my Z about 6 months ago and have been autoxing about once a month since I got it. It came with Megan racing springs front and rear and oem shocks. I did add the SPC camber kit to the rear also. The ride quality is pretty rough and I'm sure this is because the lowered ride height has worn out the oem shocks. My question is it better to go out and purchase a good set of shocks aftermarket or oem, or is it better just to take the megan springs off since I've heard they aren't very good anyway for improving handling and go back to the oem springs all around? Ideas? Good brand for some good shocks?

Similar questions get asked almost on a daily bases. There is more info on suspension than probably any topic. Do a search on how to use "search" and start searching.

 

I'm just asking if it was you would you save the cash and go back to oem or would you invest in the shocks despite the low quality springs? As far as a limited budget is concerned.

 

Well, since budget is an issue I would not talk about coilovers. I would upgrade the shocks with say Tokico D-Specs and see how well the megan springs pair with them. If those springs still don't perform well , I would junk them and get different springs. As far as spring choice, there are lots of threads in the suspension area that discuss them. Lots of choices and different ideas. Choose one and try them out. But you can't go wrong with D-Specs. Also time spent reading the following thread is time very well spent:
