Default New coilovers help needed.....

well I need some assistance on my new coilovers i recieved...

I recieved ARK performance coilovers. Sean had stated that from the factory all of there coilovers come preset at 1.25 to 1.5 on lowering from stock ride height...with that being said I measured this against my BC Racing Coils that I had just pulled off the car and the difference as shown in the pics below is huge.....

My question to you all is...

here is my car lowered on BC Racing Coilovers...I thought this was pretty low to begin with...

I think with the pic shown below that if I leave the NEW ARK coilovers at the height they are set at I will be slammed.....I installed one and already with one installed my SPC Upper A Arm already sits way up inside the fender....

Difference: BC Coil on Left and new ARK on right. from this look it looks like there is alot of room left on the BC Shock for lowering.....

BC Racing Coil installed still with car Jacked up.

ARK Coilover installed with car jacked up

I know that I can just set them up but when they came from Manufacturer they were preset for a certain ride height....I know my car was lowered more than 1.5 on my BC Racing coilovers.....which made me question the manufacturer paperwork stating that they were preset when comparing them side-by-side to the BC Coils.

I will finish everything tomorrow and just remove the one I already installed and adjust it some more...right now I have ZERO play in the strut/coil etc....thats adjusting the dampening down to soft as well

Hey sick whip bro. any update..? I would be dieing to get them on...
This may take a while but why don't you get a ruler and measure how in length your BC's are and match them up? The arks look adjustable by twisting the mounting bracket..
G luck!

^^ great point.
Im Glad to see G's Posting In Z forums!
I applogoize my presense was not on this thread till now.Measure your Bc's and that will give you somewhat of an idea. Most coilovers do not come with the desired height specs. We had the previous batch set at around 1.5 drop all around. Although Our warehouse department may have assembled our new inventory without the desired presets. We have noticed most customers like to fine tune them themselves. If you have not found the specific setting for your driving conditions, Please feel free to give me a call.

It looks like the shock body on the ARKs is significantly shorter (which will be lower) and the spring also come in to play in the ride height game. Put them all on get it on the ground and then tell us where your at.

Also don't look for the dampening adjustment to help with ride height.

sorry guys for the post....I wasnt a noob at all when it came to the suspension I was just curious since it was so much shorter. However I got everything fixed and my old BC coils were the problem and I got them fixed.

However the ARK Coilovers I would say are the great coilovers I have owned by far. I have had Tien Basic, MEgan Racing, BC Racing and now these. Overall the handling from the ARK coils is oustanding. The ride is perfect and is not harsh even when set full stiff on front and med in rear.

I will have a full review once I get the time to post on my install, quality etc.

with that being said here is a pic with the ARK coilvers installed currently.

so what was wrong with the BC's? did you raise and lower them using the spring perches vs moving the bottom up and down?

the BC's......so where the spring nuts were on the bottom of the spring that basically puts them into Load....those were so ceased up to the shock that it took me and 2 others with a VICE and a BIG AZZ Set of Channel Locks to break loose the nuts so that I could tighten up the springs to be loaded like it should have been. so the entire time I Was driving the springs were not doing anything as far as cushioning the ride. the rear shocks installed I could tell were not put on properly whenever I did them before. I corrected all of that on Princedrama's ride and the performance was alot better.

The ARK coilovers however are perfect for everyday street driving even with shocks set on stiff and the spring rates. Whenver you really want to put the cars into the corner I have ZERO body role! I Would suggest Jake that you take a ride with me to feel how the performance is.

^^right on - did you have to adjust the spring load at all or was it plug and play? I will be getting a corner balance once Im done with my stance.. I cant wait for next yr auto-x and drifting so I can put them to use.. I will take you up on that ride - I wanna hear how the motordyne sounds on the inside of your ride as well..
