Default Rotor stuck - trying to remove

Hi guys, my rotor is stuck right now as i'm trying to remove them. I don't really want to hammer them as i'm going to be reusing it after resurfacing.

There's 1 pinch bolt hole on the stock non-brembo oem rotor, and i've heard people say to use a bolt, screw it in and it'll force the rotor off. Has anyone tried this method and know what size bolt to use or where i can find the bolt?

Here's a picture of the oem rotor

Try some PBblaster spray around the hub/rotor joint. Let it soak in for a while then use a board against the rotor and hammer it so you don't damage the rotor.

You should be able to take the OEM bolt out, remove the sleeve then screw it back in so it contacts the hub and will start the rotor off.

squirt pb blaster where the hub meets the rotor and wait a little bit for it to work and try again. You may need to use a soft-blow mallet to "help" it release. I've never tried the bolt method, but I had the same problem and pb blaster and a mallet worked.

The bolt method is the easiest up front, and like Dave said, its already their for use. Just pull it , remove the sleeve and tighten it down till the rotor pops off.

dropping as in clicking it upwards with a screwdriver right?
is it necessary to do that in order to remove the rotor?

i've searched the file br.pdf in my 2007 service guide but cannot find the section for removing brake rotor... is it in a different file?

ya after an extensive search i'm going to try the emergency brake method and leave the hardcore banging as last resort....

what confuses me though is that i've already released the parking brake, shouldn't this make the parking brake loose? why do i have to use a screwdriver and loosen it more?

Agree. No need to wack the rotor with a hammer. You can use a 2x2, and tap the 2x2. Wood will not damage the rotor.

Keep removing bolts until you find one that works. I don't know what size works, but I recall it takes either a 12mm or a 13mm hex head bolt that you typically find on any Nissan.

The correct way to remove the rear rotor when it is frozen is making use of a 2 paw gear puller. set it in the largest setting and use it to pull the rotor just enough to notice that the rotor is lightly flexing, then "tap" the rotor with a hammer and watch the rotor jump off the rear with a loud pop. I had to do this just about every single z/g that never had their rear rotors removed before.

The original rotor has seized onto the hub obviously. I remember removing my rotors by spraying penetrating oil, letting it sit, maybe tapping the rotor hat. After trying to be gentle with it I decided to take the BFH and give it a wack. It came off with one good hit at the very edge of the rotor. If your fronts are stuck I'd try using the bolt method. If your rotors don't have that bolt hole I'd try the BFH. I'd be more careful on the front because the hub and balljoints are a bit more delicate.

I had the same problem, I borrowed a 7 ton gear pulled from Pep Boys and was able to pull the rotor off with a 250lb torque impact wrench. When it final came it flew off like 6 inches and a loud clang. The other Rotor on the passenger side came off super easy. The other issue I encountered was the pistons on the calipers I couldn't force the down until I disconnected them. In the videos people were just pushing the down so easily while they were connected.
