Rotor stuck - trying to remove

While counterintuitive, if you're having problems with the rear rotor (the front is easily removed by tightening the "pinch bolt"), use a very heavy sledge hammer and a piece of hardwood. Striking the hardwood protects the rotor's surface and it should be positioned off center to the hub (on the top or bottom of the rotor) The energy in the heavy hammer head, even with a gentle one-handed swing, works better than beating the hell out of the rotor with a smaller hammer. Oddly, a smaller hammer is more likely to ding up the rotor as well. Spray on some PB blaster between the hub face and rotor a few hours before using the hammer and it should free up with a single blow from the sledge. I've used this method on my "Z" and Volvo wagon and it always works without damage to anything.

It should be off by now…I had this issues when I went to my bbk for my rear rotors…I used PB blaster, sprayed it every few hours for a weekend…the rotor finally came off…
I like the big heavy hammer and 2x4 method…and remember, if you **** up the rotor it's not the end of the world...
