Default Level Ride Height

I find it hard to believe I can not find the answer to this question on here as I also did a search. Maybe I am not searching correctly. lol

I am looking to purchase springs for my 2006 350z 6MT. I had this same car in the past and used the Tanabe GF210 and it sat higher in the back then it did in the rear which after a month I finally cut half a coil to level it. Does anyone know of an out of the box spring set that lowers the car and levels out the ride height? I do not want coil overs or to have to cut anything. The Tanabe GF201 lowers the car 1.0" in front and 1.2" in rear to try and make up for the rear being higher but it does not lower the rear enough to level it even with the front.

Thanks

i have eibach springs. 1" front 1.5" rear i believe. sits even. you can also do the cut boot method.

I do not want to do any cutting. It seems odd to me that as many spring manufacturers as there are not one of them makes a spring that give you a level ride height.
Hey Angeles, do you have a picture of your car anywhere online I can see? Also, what model or series springs did you get?

1 inch drop front and back would be a level height. The car is supposed to sit with a slight rake.

so you want the front to be lower? im confused. yes the car is at a "slight rake" at oem height. so you want to keep that "rake", just an overall lower car? if that make sense.

Clean car!
Ok, let me explain in a more clear way. The car comes stock with a slight rake. The front is a little lower than the rear straight off the assembly line. I do not like that. I want the car to sit level with no rake. So I am looking to put new springs on the car to improve the ride and lower the car. I want the car to sit level with no rake once I get the new springs in. For this to happen I need a spring set that lowers the back more than the front. The Tanabe GF 210 lowers the back 1.2" and the front 1.0" to try to compensate and level it out. But these springs still did not level it. The back needs to be even lower than just the .2" difference the Tanabe springs do. I'm thinking a spring that is .5" difference in the back as opposed to the front would lower the back enough to correct the uneven stance. Most spring sets are lowering the car equal amounts. For example they lower the front 1" and the back 1" so the car will be lower but still have that stinkbug looking rake. I know coilovers are a way to solve this problem but I do not want to go that route. I also know cutting will correct the problem in numerous ways but as I mentioned I do not want to do any cutting. So can anyone point me to a spring set that lowers the car and gives it a level final stance with no rake?

So do you know what changing height does to the handling and weight distro?

lol, you cut your tanabae gf 210 springs when all you had to do is the rear spring mount mod, lol. Noobs, Here is a pic of my gf210 setup no rake. So, you went and ruined your perfectly good spring, wow.

Well... Couldn't be any worse than you taking a perfectly good thread and ruin it by talking sh*t.. Lol, typical veteran forum poster! Nothin better to do than spend evenings fishing for inexperienced noob's to put down so you can glorify yourself. I wish I had been blessed with your almighty wisdom 6 years ago when I didn't see any talk of cutting the upper spring mount.

To the rest of you guys, thanks for your input. I'm gonna go read that link right now.

You know I have been a member here for many years but have posted very few times because I see a lot of unneeded bashing. I know people ask for it at times and you can't be too soft on forums. But some of it is just dumb. Sad thing is that it's from the senior members as well as a couple moderators who you would think would be the more helpful and curtious. I'll go find my info on another site.

CACHED!

Well, you are the one that has a problem and not the op. What he is telling you is the right answer or one of the best solutions to your problem. He went the extra mile to post a pic to help. You call that bashing? I am glad to see you go to a different site but with this kind of attitude, things won't be different. Good luck

I'm interested in lowering my Z so there's no rake. Can anyone comment or link to explanation of what you sacrifice in handling/weight distribution?

marques, how many inches are you down?

I think I'm about 2 inches, possibly a little more.

Why not just switch to s-tune suspenion or R-tune suspension??? oif its not any much different.

To be honest, I never understood why people wanna go any lower other than for track/competitive purposes. It already sits aggressive, especially with the right set off wheels....

Are you kidding me? Stock is monster truck status. Some people want to go lower for cosmetic reasons. Not everyone gets a sports car to take it to the track. To each his own I guess.

I wouldn't call it monster truck status. The Z sits lower compared to most cars. However, the stock wheel gap (esp the rear) is horrendous.

I always wondered the same until I lowered mine. For the first few days you would be in and out of your garrage several times just to stare at it.
