Default Alignment with worn tires, then buy new tires = fail?

I just replaced my transverse link and compression rod bushing on my car, and think i definitely need an alignment after 90k on the OEM stuff.

Would it be ok to get an alignment on old, worn tires then install new tires? Isn't alignment independent of tire wear?

Just wondering, I know nothing about alignments but figure I would ask (forgive me for my ignorance on this subject). I don't want to ruin 900 bucks in tires.

Alignments don't require the tech to remove your wheels so get it done whenever. I would do it after installing new tires for a fresh start.

+1 To be on the safe side I would have my alignment done with the new tires on the car.

Tire condition does not matter. Alignment is wheel alignment.

On the other hand I would like to see worn tires so I know what I am trying to solve with alignment.

It won't matter either way. Just don't drive around on new tires if your alignment is off. That will eat up your new tires.
