PAINT UPDATE!
So far no chips in about 300 miles of driving, and the paint seems to be getting much harder than it was, so far so good...good to hear from someone who has been through the progression, thanks for checking in Terra!
I will post on my original thread the part list!

Thanks for the front caliper comparison pics... I might be doing this mod at some point...
BTW do you use those power bleeder pumps that you connect to the master cylinder reservoir? Or do you have some other system for bleeding the Z's brakes?

I did not do this down at the shop, or I would have used our vacuum bleeder, I did it the old fashion way, one person on the pedal the other on the bleeder, its not all that hard, just depends how much air you have in the system, if you prime the calipers and pinch the lines, there will not be much, it will take longer if you are lbeeding the whole system. Just make sure when you crack open the bleeder to close it before the pedal reaches the floor. You also will need some type of hose or catch can(I used the lid off a spray paint can, worked wonders) or yo will have a mess everywhere.

Remove Bolt 44L39A and 44L39 and it comes right off. The same bolts/sliders you need to remove to swap pads.

Thanks Joepro, this is really helpful since I'm trying to source parts for my '05 to do the same thing right now. Your driving impressions were also good to read. With that big rotor size upgrade I thought it would have to make a noticeable difference.
Do you know if the compatibility is the same with the '06 G35 base brake system on the '05 Z?
