Default About to commit blasphemy against my Z

So I have been riding on H-techs for a while now and I have come to the realization that my Z is not low enough. I didn't feel like porking over $200 + on new springs so....... I jumped on eBay and picked out a set of springs That claim a 1.5 in drop all around these springs ended up costing me $90 new in box and shipped. I know what everyone Is going to say "you get What you pay" but that may not always be the case. For example:

http://m.g35driver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=125296&highlight=camber+kit+accident

So my goal these next few months is to to buy, try, and review a wide assortment of eBay products to see if I can prove some people wrong. I'm also in the process of a DIY mrev2 (not an install). Ill keep anyone remotely interested. Up to date on this thread.

It's hard to say. You may ride off into the sunset saying "I told you so," but then 30,000 miles later the eBay parts fail, where as a quality kit may last the lifetime of the car.

This has fail written all over it. Those springs are not even
Compression tested. You're gonna put basura on your z?
Why? Buy a Kia and experiment. Don't shame your car. Go stock
And sell.

Who is going to do the spring test? Would love to know the starting tension, how they hold tension after 5k miles , 25k miles. How about Ebay shock, throw them on a shock dyno, drive them and do it again. Provide some good data, this could be a good test.

if you're gonna install the springs on stock shocks, then it isn't worth testing... if your gonna buy new shocks, you might as well fork over a little more money and buy a cheapo coilover kit.

I am on my 06 Z 6mt and I plan on putting them through some intense driving conditions seeing how I regularly abuse my car like a rented mule. I did a bit of rally racing in it last week just so you guys get an idea of the abuse im talking about.

That's true but im not going to be loosing any sleep if my $90 springs suck. Its hardly an investment. I'm just experimenting here. besides the way I treat my cars it wouldn't be worth it to drop big money on it.

So no actual data, nothing to measure the springs, see if they are actually matched ( like getting one 440lb front spring and one 489lb front spring) if they hold their rate over the course of a few months.

oh yeah I had all the info I just forgot where I went but from what I read and the info I got from the vendor they are slightly stiffer then stock and they are slightly better springs for that price range. But I was just going to gauge sagging the same way you would gauge a women " How many fingers can you shove in that gap?" also I would do a shock dyno if I knew a shop near by that had one. Im all about hard evidence so I would be glad to figure out a way to get you some numbers.

how cheap can you go man? you have like a erally nice new car, dont put **** parts on it, that doesnt make sense...i understand if you ahve an old 89 civic but a 06 350z dude...just spend 100 more bucks and get eibach ones, i dont even own a z but ive heard those lower the most...and do the rear mod where you cut the spring mount if its not low enough, or get some k sport co9ils, there like 900 bucks

but im gonna get coils anyways, you waste more time and money getting poop parts in teh long run honestly lol

I remember reading something like this on the supra forum but the guy did it with turbo kits. He learned alot about which turbos weren't so bad so good luck on your findings man.

I hate cheap people. I give those springs a month before the coils start break and make noise and mess up the stock shocks. No to mention the camber wear and then negative impact it is going to have on your tires. Good luck with that homie!
