Yes sir that would be me I have the money, but waiting for a nice low mileaged one to be on sale on Craigslist. And the 6 inch lips are a long term goal. Not any time soon. I am focusing on getting the car atm.

Don't hate bro, I am just trying to get there one step at a time

Brake jobs on this car are not much different than any other car.

My neighbor who's a mechanic changed all 4 corners(just pads)for $130 including the parts(wagner pads). That was before he opened his own shop. He would probably charge more now.......Job is pretty easy if you have the basic tools and a little mechanical know-how. Now please go buy the car already bro.

we will all be very disappointed if you dont pop up w new user pics soon.

It will become an agry mob.

Brakes on the cheap cost 200 for labor, and about 189 for new rotors and ceramic pads.. you can easily spend double on normal sized parts, and you can easily spend quite literally 30 times this amount if buy a BBK.

No hate going on here. The first step would be buying the car though.

So you guys are saying 130 to 189 dollars? I got a mechanic buddy so labor aint that big of a deal. trust me I really want to hurry it up and get one too, but I figured it would be worth it to patiently wait and get a low mileaged one, since it will most likely be a 2003.

So if I get a 2003 the main things I might need are new tires(maybe, depends on condition) and new brakes right?

Edit: Just found this link... It should be something around this right?

The "main" things your 03 "might" need are a transmission, window motors, brakes, tires, and a sh!tload of other regular maintenance.

How about you tell us your budget and the area you're looking for a Z. Then we can find one for you. We are really bored!

I don't think I need help since I refresh craigslist page 100x a day everyday lol. I am looking upto like $12,500 in northern VA/Washington DC area. A black one or possibly white. Manual is a must, and no convertibles. I really broke it down so that is why its gonna take me a while. I am not in a hurry though.

Brakes will cost you $200 to $1,000. Budget brakes are just that. Instead of shopping by price, ask for a shop recommendation in your regional forum.

I am not trusting my life to cheap brakes.

I never use my brakes anyways, i just open my doors to slow down.

Daves in luck he doesnt have to trust his life to those brakes.. he can ride w me.. i trust his life w my brakes. hee hee.

OP, if you drive around town, you will NEVER notice a difference w good brakes versus pure crap.

BUT.. the minute you brake hard several times in a row, (IE lap one on a track day...) it will become painfully obvious how cool a BBK/high end set up is..

if you will not be having a lap day, buy whatevs.
Replace often at normal intervals.

oh, and BUY A CAR!!!!!!!

OP, I have to agree with this guy. But, just because you're buying an 03 doesn't mean that these things all need replaced. It ultimately comes down to who you are buying the stuff from and how they kept their car up.

With that said, I went cheap and should have waited and bought a newer Z (I have an 03). I have had to replace the freakin window motor, brakes, tires, and a lot of other maintenance.

Basically, just get the newest car you can find within your budget. Just my 2 cents.
