Default Fender clearance question

Hey guys, I'm about to install a set of Stance GR+ coilovers on my 2003 Nissan 350z. I have a quick question, and I haven't been able to find anything with the search feature. I'm just curious, for the guys that are tucking tire in the front fender. How do you turn without absolutely destroying your front fender? lol If anyone could answer that for me, let me know. Thanks

The front fender may cut the tire but it is the coolness that counts.

I'm not going for the hellaflush look where my wheel is 25mm past my fender. My wheels/tires will be perfectly flush with my fenders with a bit of negative camber. I'm just worried if I'm tucking part of my tire in the front fender and then try to turn full lock it'll crack my fender. How do you guys do it?

Quit being a va J J and do that ****. I'm sure your offsets are conservative enough not to mess up your fender. Unless your running big normal tires...

I'm running stock 18's right now with 245/45 tires all the way around the car. I will get spacers to flush them up until I can afford new wheels with proper offsets.

More camber, pulled fenders, stretched tires or don't go so low are all options.

If you slam your car on stock 18s keep in mind youll need like 30mm + spacers for them to look flush...

Never going to know till you do it. Drop and play with camber and offset.

You have to understand how the front tires actually turn when you turn the wheel. Set the wheels sortaflush, lower it, and try it. I can only get one finger in the gap (lol) and my concern is rubbing on the various arms underneath the car rather than the fender.

note -> I run Enkei NT03's 18x9.5 and 10.5

There are NO offsets that enkei offers that will afffect your turning whats so ever.. You shouldnt be running more than a 255 tire upfront anyways.. im on a 18x10 -5 and have no issues at all SLAMMED.... soo i think youll be ok

Really? I run RPF1 in 9.5 +15 up front with a 275/35-18 and need camber for clearance. Nothing wrong with some meat on the road. My street setup is NT03 +17 (has a spacer ) 255/40 and would slightly rub before i added extra camber.

275 is too much IMO for the fron, I dont see any reason to run a 265 at best on a 10/10.5 wheel up front. like example, rpf1 18x10.5 alll around with 265/35/18 all around. My ideal "track setup" anything else seems too excessive for road racing. maybe a 285 out back if you have FI or built.

10.5 for a 265 is way excessive, extra weight and nothing to gain running a wheel that wide with a narrow tire. The track is about function not hellaflush crap. 275/285 is perfect IMO for a NA Z on the track. The i wouldn't run less than a 265 up front.

I would Ideally opt for a 17" wheel for serious track use. But 275 for the fron is excessive, 275 is Wide as I would go in the rear, but I'd Still opt for 265/45 all around or 265/45 F 265/45 R on a 9.5 wheel width. Theres no reason to run such wide tires with a 280hp car that weighs 3k+ Besides, alot of track tires reguardless of wheel diameter run a 45 aspect ratio because of Tire roll and weight shifting dynamics it increases grip by letting the tire roll and not the car. Besides, Tires are weight too.. So reduce you're rotating mass go faster in and accelerate earlier out. Most the JDM landers run a 265/35/18 square setup as it is for their shop/track cars, But lets create our own theories against proven setups. Just because I like my car to be low and flush doesnt by any means make me less of a driver. My cars on the street, not the track. Why wear running shoes with my three piece suit?

So Japo land is the #1 authority in building fast cars? What works for them on the perfectly smooth tracks they have, may not produce the best results out here. That is the reason why anyone who cares about performance will not use alot of the GayDM suspension parts.

ill have to agree with Terrasmak. i Run 275 in the fronts and rears on my track car with 9.5 wide rims and a 20+ offset and i have no issues with rubbing.
