Top Speed coilovers?

I don’t have these coils but I haven't really seen a valid argument yet on why these are sh!tty. Their full retail is 749 not because they are crap but because they are sold directly by the manufacturer. I don’t remember seeing any bad responses about these even on driver, what’s unfortunate is there are like 30+ 350z owners with them and more over on driver. The other cost cutting factors are they are group selling them in bulk. I remember all the coilovers I used to install typically the shock/strut would fail pretty soon, I've seen several fail even big name brands koni, tokico, if they don’t fail immediately then for the most part they have lasted a while. That has been my experience with DSMs. There is a lot of conjecture there but I can't automatically discount these coils simply because they are cheap. Again there is no middle man so the price is down, there is no vendor so the price is down and they are selling in bulk so the price is down, so I'll take the chance, not all will but those who have purchased haven't been disappointed yet, if I am the 1st I will most definitely post to avoid others from encountering the same. Their build quality appears to be good. I'll give my 1st hand experience when time comes.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>

here's my chime in....i ran the mdus that came in red, prior to the orange ones ive seen. (rears) i did not have to undo preload, wouldnt know because the springs came separate, ran them as true type rather than oem. placed the springs on the strut, hand tightened the collars, then tightened them up just a bit more with the wrenches. lowered shock height till maxed, had to raise maybe 1/2 inch or more, was pretty low on 19's. fronts can go super low nuff said. yeah got the noises after a while, but radio fixed that. for 600 bux wouldnt say they are track worthy. but street cruising, cant beat that. ride was decent even when i had all corners full stiff, and again these were on the red ones, which i believe are discontinued as the orange ones are the lastest and greatest(??). orange z is on an even older version, the silver/blue set.
the orange(newer) set - i hear they dont go as low. dunno why...err should say, not as easy to get them to go as low as the red sets we had
on a da integra
my former z
robzone
shelter orange z on an older version mdu
snb rootbeer s2k
buddy's eg sedan
lunatik's g35
another homie's s2k
various videos of my car rolling on mdu's if u search youtube....

Wrd, wat i did notice was the rear upper mount on strut does not have the seat to center the springs of u were to try and run it true type, so if u are wanting to go true type, id rather not run with these, .02

Thanks for your input, but.....what is the cheaper brand coils did you work for? I`m sure your still talking about ones that are probably twice the amount. One thing that actually gets me thinking is the guys from stance....if they ride with them, they cant be peices of crap, they might not be vivids brand that 1200-1400$ or 1200$ stance that are ideal for tracking.....From what i read, these seem like decent coilovers, for the price. Mainly meant to slam, and DD while sometime seeing the track to have fun, not compete....I`m having high hopes for these and hope to get some reviews before i get my set in April.

Here is my car with MDU from eBay, rears are set OEM WITH OUT locking collars, and fronts are set 2 inches shorter than Hotckis spings, fronts are still adjustable I need to lower 1/2 maybe 1 full inch more.. Rears are maxed out unless I go true coilover set up then I bet I can go lower.. I'm also hoping the springs settle a bit more

yeah those are the ones, If you search g35driver you'll see these are "pirate" coil overs, so apparently there not suppose to sell em anymore, which is why the colors change to appear different.. idk something like that, "racingfirst" sent me an email stating they were fresh out of yellow, so red's are what he could ship, and that's what I wanted I somewhat took the risk knowing it would happen, also in shipment package was attached a shipment receipt "Sample Shock $80.00" go figure!

It really depends on what you are looking for from a coilovers... If you just want a coilover to lower your car, or "Slam" it, these will probably be an "AMAZING" coilover for the value... But if you're looking for coilovers that will improve handling and characteristic of your vehicle (which is what I want..) you should probably purchase a coilover that was purpose built with research and development behind it...
