Shock length is used to set travel , preload is used to set ride height. Just like we do on high end suspension like KW, Moton, JRZ and Koni.

Pre load only gets you so low, do you have a picture of your sagging suspension to show how you can access the camber nut?

Pre load is not how you set right height haha. It's for keeping the spring seated during cornering and corner balancing your car.

Thanks, so what are you suggesting we do? How were you able to reach the nut? I have like 3/8" to 1/2" of preload and only dropped 2 inches.

Set the shock length to where your bumpstops engage when they are supposed to, set your preload for your ride height.

Is there a thread that describes how to adjust shocks to when bump stops engage??

This way will give you the max usable up travel, and the most droop. Takes a few when removals to get it right, but worth the effort.

Now I install the springs and set the ride height with preload. You have to be semi careful using soft springs, the spring may fully collapse and bind before the bump stop engages. In this case a tender spring may be required. If the spring does not have any preload on it at the desired ride height, you will need to buy a pair of helper springs to keep the main spring seated.
Just found in another thread. Are you saying you set the bottom mount when the shock (not spring) is fully compressed so the suspension can sag just as far as the full piston travel? I'm going to give that a try if that is correct and then adjust the spring to lower the car. I just think that I would have to tighten the spring up pretty good though

Also, since I do not have the "true rear coilovers" and use the spring bucket are the rears adjusted the same way?

How do we know what shock height to adjust to, doesn't it vary on how much the spring drop is?

Same way, install the shock without the spring, set the travel , install the spring and set the ride height.

Set your bump so your bumpstop engages before your tire hits or Upper control arms bottoms out. Simple.
