Default Issue with front camber arm hitting

I am having an issue with the upper ball joint on my SPC arms hitting the strut tower over bumps and dips in the road. I have researched this and found that this is caused by ride height or SPC arms. SPC will tell you to put the extra bump stops in the coilover but I believe this is only a band aid. The pictures will show that the car is not slammed. I set the height right above the tire. If at all possible I would like to keep this ride height. I am running SPC arms and Stance coilovers.

My question is:

Does anyone with a simialar setup in ride height have any experience with another set of camber arms that do not hit?

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

reduce preload and extend the shock body.

Yes, if you are hitting you have to much up travel. Bump stops will work, what i mentioned above will also work.

Terrasmak thanks for the reply. I have the preload set to just the spring having very slight tension. I could not see going any less than that. Extending the shock body will raise the height. What I really was hoping for is an arm that clears with no hitting. I think I may be sol.

This is a late reply but I thought I would chime in. I have the same issue as you, although I am much lower, it is the same exact issue with stock arms. All in all there is nothing you can do. You don't have many options either. What I did was put cushioning where it was hitting glued with gorilla glue. It reduced the sound by about 80 percent, on the big bumps it is more of a soft "thud" than a super loud "CLUNK."

A more extreme route that some others have done is to actually cut out that area where it is hitting to give your arm more room to move up. Not sure how safe this is but it is a solution that works the best as takes the sound away completely.

Another thing you can do is buy some stiffer springs from stance to stop the travel distance.

Yea I guess my concern was to find an arm that gives more clearance instead of stopping the travel with bump stops or cushions. I removed the SPC arms and installed the Kinetex arms and the issue is happening less. I was told that from an engineer at SPC that the arms are actually 3/4 inch less clearance that stock. Hence the reason I tried Kinetex. Its still happening over large bumps or dips on the highway. Too bad no companies make a shortened spindle arm.... That would be a correct fix imo. At this point I am either going to have to raise the front some or maybe get stiffer springs like you suggested. Thanks for the information 35028.
