Default Coilover suggestions?

Alright guys, I have a 06 350z that I dropped a few inches in the rear with a cheaper coilover setup ( couldn't get the front 2 on because of stubborn strut bar screws), and even on the softest setting, I was bumping up and down local/highway roads like a fat kid riding a bike made of wood. <---
But anyway, I was thinking about buying a better setup. I have a few brands in mind. HKS RS sounds like a good setup from what I've read. Im just wondering if there is anyone out there that has a good setup with a some what comfortable spring rate?

Here are you 2 big problems. Few inches is 3 to 4 , so you put it on the ground and it rides like ***. You have no suspension travel , and will not have suspension travel with that much of a drop.

If it's just for daily. You should look into KW Variant 2 . It's has best material construction quality of any coilover kit that i've seen. It also has life time warranty on their coilovers! Price is well under you budget. it's also height adjustable and adjustable rebound damping. it's perfect for daily drive!

+1 for KWs.

Heard pretty good things about Stance coilovers as well. I'd probably go with KWs before Stance though.

I bought a set of KW V2s, got them installed, but never had the chance to drive my car since I'm in a different country. The people who worked my car (German shop with actual Nissan race cars) had nothing bad to say about the setup, though they only tested my car on smaller tracks and not the Nurburgring. Anyway, I did my research before my purchase so I'm confident they'll do quite well.

I run stance coilovers, and its probably the same for other coilsovers, but ride height does not affect suspension travel... Stance coilovers come with separate adjustable lower bracket which allows the dampers to retain its full stroke even when lowering the vehicle.

I'm in the same boat and I've learned that for a happy medium of lowering dd comfort and trackabity, kw v2 or v3 is where its at. That's the path I'm taking

So you are saying that you can lay the body on the ground and still have full travel ? Does your hood and fender move out of the way for the tire to move as your driving , how about your upper control arm ? What is the point of having 2 inches of up travel (if you can get that much ) if your chassis touches the ground after 1 inch.

YOU ACTUALLY HAVE TO THINK, you have a rear car, real physics are applied , it's not like a video game.

also, please change your front coilovers. a shop should be able to take those screws out for you cheap if your incapable of doing so.

did you try stiffening them up? if the setting is too soft it wont be able to properly dampen the spring, making it bouncy. maybe you can describe how it drives better. it would be easier to help.

Made no sense...

If 2k is your budget you have a few choices of quality brands to look at!

Happy kW v2 user here. Good for daily driving and it works even better when you take on some twisty roads.

more info on other coilovers here:
