When DIY is a must.. [Updated]
Lets try this again.
Ive had my B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L 2007 Solar Orange 350z for about 6 months now.
And I absolutely love it. The compliments I get every day, the power, the shape of the car... etc. Its just one kick a$$ car!
But there have been several things I absolutely hate about it. The very poor interior paint along with the exterior paint, The rattling, the clanking, the clicking when stopping and the driver window going down a few inches after I rolled it all the way up.
That being said I am trying my hardest to get the irritations to STOP. I know there is nothing really I can do about the interior squeaking. Its not a Rolls Royce. I am aware of that. Plastic is Plastic. So with the car being recently bought I took it to the dealership to have everything looked at. I did not go to my dealership because they blew me off the previous times I have went. Only for the clicking noise while braking which I found that problem myself. My brake pad on the rear driver side was loose and so was the caliper itself. Tightened up, clicking went away like a miracle. Anyways these are the things the dealership said was wrong.
-Front right bearing
-New shocks
-New brake hardware
For the parts and their labor was priced at 2,220 dollars.
Which is a Joke. Here are the Parts ive decided to order.
Shocks Tokico HP series. (Also thinking about the D-Spec series) Give me some advice on my choice please!

Wheel Hub Assembly "Bearing" Picture Would be stupid to post... But this is where I plan on getting it.

And im THINKING about upgrading to a big brake kit... This is what im thinking.

I have heard nothing but great things on the Stop Techs. And I see MANY member here running them. These are the main things that I need. Please, if you think im taking the wrong route please correct me. Im no expert here. Hopefully my insurance company or Coverage plan can take care of this. If not, i will have a tiny project on my hands.

So the dealership told you that you need new shocks and a new right front bearing. You are going to do the work yourself and then someone is going to compensate you for it? Is that what I read?
He doesn't like the dealerships price. He pays monthly for insurance, but it's not full coverage, and he hopes they will pay for the damage.
You need to contact your insurance company before you do anything.
Not that hard to understand

Okay, after all the clanking and rattling, i took the Z to the dealership. "Not my dealership". It appears that i have no brake hardware? "Causing the clicking". New shocks and A front right bearing.
They said for parts and labor 2,220 bucks. HAHA.
So im going to have to get some aftermarket parts and do it myself. Which I pay monthly for coverage but I didn't get the full package. Hopefully and can get some of this stuff taken care of for free..

Insurance is not for stuff braking... its for auto accidents, vandalism, theft... not getting BBK or new shocks with INS... lol
BTW the solar orange is beautiful!.. just don't like the red taillights against the orange... other than that beauuuutiful

Id like to believe Chad is right.. I dont think insurance pays for "upgrades" also even if they did wouldnt you have to pay a deductible and take an increase in payments.. which makes it in the long run pointless..?
