Stance GR+ vs Apexi N1 ExV
Alright guys,
I'm in a situation where I can get a set of Stance GR+ Coilovers, with SPC Camber Arms/Toe Bolts all installed by a buddy of mine for $850.00. Or, I could buy a set of the Apexi N1 ExV Coilovers, with SPC Camber Arms/Toe Bolts for $900.00.
In your guys' opinions, between those two setups - which are better? I'm looking to go pretty low with my car. (about 1.5-2" off the ground) The Apexi N1 ExV Coilovers are only about 2 months old - and the Stance GR+ Coilovers are about a year or so old. I've heard great things about the Stance Coilovers, but I haven't really heard of the Apexi N1 ExV Coilovers.
Thoughts and opinions?

I'm leaning more towards the Stance Coilovers. The Apexi's are nice, but I don't feel that they will go as low as I need them to. The only thing that really makes me worry about the Stance Coilovers is that they have about 30,000 Miles on them already. Don't you have to rebuild coilovers after awhile? How much does that usually cost to do?

If you're trying to go low I'd probably just go for the Stance coilovers. If they've been maintained then I don't think you should have much of an issue with them, but at 30,000 miles you might eventually want to consider rebuilding them (if applicable).

With 30,000 miles on them I'd buy something else for my $850. It sounds like a decent deal with the camber arms and install, but you'd probably want those rebuilt sooner rather than later. In my opinion it's not worth spending $400-$500 rebuilding a $900 set of coilovers.

They are more than likely temporary, as I'm trying to get my project off of the ground first. It's a street/drift build and I will be making a build thread soon.

If you're in the process of a build there's no benefit of spending money on a temporary suspension setup. Are you saying you need good suspension to drift with and will eventually upgrade? Or are you waiting until you get the suspension you really want to start drifting? Seems like a better idea to just put that $850-$900 toward the proper setup.

If you want a drift setup you dont want to go too low. Stance makes great coilovers but most of the guys over here run BC for drifting because $900-1000 you can get brand new ones with a year warranty and they can compare with other leading brands. They have an easy process for getting them repaired also. I would recommend getting camber arms with your setup whichever you choose. While drifting you wont be using the full width of the tire causing you to not have enough traction which means a lot of spinning out. Plus you eat through tires ALOT quicker and dont produce as much smoke.

The $850 includes the camber arms and toe bolts as well. Plus, I like having the option to go very low, and being able to raise her back up for the track.

Either set sounds like a good. I dont know much about Apexi so I would get the Stance personally. I know those are great, had them in my 240sx. Plus they would be easy to resell later on down the line if you want to get something else.
Im not a fan of toe bolts because I think they can get knock out of alignment especially when throwing your car around but its fine for temporary. Id order a lockout kit to go with the camber arm and adjustable toe arm instead.

I will eventually swap the toe bolt out for an adjustable toe arm for that exact reason. I will be getting alignments often, but not too often. Lol
