Stance GR+ Coilover Question
Hey guys,
So I recently picked up a set of Stance GR+ Coilovers for a really good price. Complete with Camber Arms and Toe Bolts. (Upgrading to Toe Arms at a later time.) So here is my dilemma. I have the Coilovers installed on my car - it's a 2003 Nissan 350z. Everything installed fine, but I've noticed that my rears will not go any lower. The two collars on the rear that are below the spring perch are touching. There is also zero pre-load on the coilover spring. (Said this is recommended.) So the rear Coilovers are already maxed out which is nice, but I've heard Stance Coilovers can put the frame on the ground if I wanted them to. The front Coilovers are a different story. Overall the entire car sits about 3" or so off of the ground, and the fronts are a small bit lower than the rears right now. The fronts can still go down another 1-2 inches, and would literally bring the frame right down to the concrete - but the rears are maxed out currently. I'm just not sure what to do in order to get that one more inch of adjustment in the rear. If anything, I want the car to be 2-2.5" off of the ground. Is it possible to remove the rear locking collars below the spring perch, and just thread the bottom socket up to the spring perch? Do I need to adjust the pre-load? I've tried searching around on Google, but I can't seem to find anything specific to z33's and these Coilovers. Hopefully some of you suspension guru's can help me out?
This picture is not of my rear coilover, but this is how mine looks if it helps. Notice how the two collars between the bottom socket and the spring perch are touching.

I went ahead and jacked up the car tonight. I removed one locking collar on each coilover and bolted everything back into place. It turned out very good to be honest. It evened up the issue I was having, and even dropped the car another .5-3/4 of an inch in the rear. I plan on dropping the front just a little bit more, and then installing my new wheels/tires that will be here early to mid November. Until then, you'll see a build thread up soon!
