ESbushing Compression install help
I had just came back from Japan and this car was given to me. Before I started this job, the car was acting up pulling hard to the left. I had read it could be bad bearings, bad tires, or bad bushings. The tires had bad toe wear. I have changed out the new tires, wheel bearing assemblies, and all the front arm bushings. As I was taking out the arms, I had noticed the driver side compressing bushing was missing a nut. I'm sure this was the cause to the problem, but I went ahead and changed everything. When I was finishing up the Compression arm install, the stud on the driver side, the trouble side, was too short whereas the passenger side was sticking out an inch. I could not thread the nut on the driver side with the underbrace installed. FML Could I have installed the arms on wrong? Is the stud replaceable?
were you on level ground?
manual says to Measure axial end play by installing and moving up/down with
an iron pry bar or something similar between compression rod and transverse link. should be zero play.
if it was too short on one end, probably busted. time for a new rod.
