Default Help me switch out Tein Basic to stock?

Hey everyone,

Forgive me if this is answered elsewhere, my computer is acting up so it's hard enough to surf let alone search and search before it crashes and forces a restart, so I'm hoping I can just ask and get the quick answers I need?

I have an 04 Base Coupe, Tein Basic suspension on it, and I want to take it back to stock.

What parts do I need? I know of the shock and the spring, but is there more?

I've heard there's a bushing somewhere in that assembly (I'm not a car expert by any means obviously), and I'm wondering about any kind of mounting hardware or bolts? Or does the shock itself come with everything and the spring just goes over the shock for the fronts and in the rear I think they sit on their own housing?

All help greatly appreciated!

Hey man just wondering why are you switching back to stock from the tein basic coilovers? The tein basis coilovers have caught my interest and well just wondering if your switching because of any issues with the set up

Just shock and springs. I'd say look for a set of 2004.5+ shock and springs as they are beefier than the 2003-2004.

Sorry for the big delay in following up...had some good but serious life issues come my way that needed a lot of time to resolve.

To answer the question of why I'm wanting to get away from the Teins it's only because on some of the rough roads out here it's a little too jarring for my taste, but it's really not that bad to be honest, however I'm wanting my Z to be more of a sporty touring ride than a mean rebellion against the laws of physics.

I'll probably be selling off my low mileage Tein Basics and either upgrading them (I love the lowered look, get lots of compliments and it stands out as more poised like a sports car than the stock height is) or I'm just going to go back to stock since I have the shocks already, just need springs which I can find for cheap pretty easily.

Thanks for the tip on the 04.5 springs, I actually was aware of that but I appreciate the help. I'm either going for 04.5 springs (or 05 which are same thing), or I'm going to a higher end coilover that gets close to stock ride quality for daily driving.

Thanks again,

If you already have stock shocks, you just need springs. The Teins should be using your OEM top hats which you can reuse.
