Default steering rack bushing installation

I have a question about installing the bushing that holds the rack in place using a clamp with two bolts.

the big size bushing in the pic.

Can this be installed simply by removing two bolts from the clamp?
No need to remove the under brace?

I just picked up a set myself and also have not yet installed it. I'm waiting to amount more steering mods so I can do a steering overhaul day. I was just down there to change out my compression rod bushings. From memory, you may be able to do what you're talking about, but it'll be cramped, and you'll still have to remove the rack to press out the old bushings at the mounts. Plus, removing the under brace is no big deal at all. It's the same socket for every nut and bolt holding it on, and it's not very heavy. Once it's off, everything is super easy access.

Pick up an electric impact wrench from Harbor Freight to undo the chassis brace. It makes short work of it. I wouldn't say it's "not very heavy" because if you aren't ready for it to drop, it would hurt a little if it fell on you. Can easily have a jack under it, ready to catch.

i'm planning to only replace the big size bushing since this is the one that's screwed up.I'll probably throw away the two bushings that i have to use hydraulic press to install.
It'll be nice if i can install the big size bushing without removing the brace since i slightly rounded off one of the nut that holds the brace in place.

Yes, the stock bushing is cut in half (this one should be too) so you just have to slide it around the rack
