When I installed the pads, I re-used the metal shims that were on the stock pads, and also sprayed a rubberized "stop squeel" on the back of those plates (as you should with just about ALL brake pads) ... installed them, and drove around the neighborhood doing several 30mph -> 5mph stops. After that I did several 45mph -> 5mph stops (don't stop completly). This was as per the Hawk installation sheet that came with the pads.
Hmmm... I think I did installed correctly, but maybe the rotor was cut well. I did re-used the metal shims and also lubbed with a lot of Gold Grease on the back of the plate, maybe I should of look for some rubberized "stop squeel". what is that btw?

Well, the "stop squeel" is just a generic name for it. The exact stuff I used was:

Permatex 80077
Disc Brake Quiet: 127MA; Aerosol; 9 oz.

Worked like a charm!

So, do you spray that on the back of the pad? and is that kind of like a foamy stuff? I might have to do that next time when I change out all my pads.

I put on the Hawk HP+ pads based on recommendations here. The brake dust was greatly reduced. I bedded the pads properly, but still had a lot of squeel.

My big problem though, is that I'm experiencing brake fade after just a few agressive stops (+100mph -> ~10mph) which I do quite regularly when I'm testing new mods with my G-Tech.

I'm concerned about taking this to the track, since I don't want to have to pull off after a few corners to let my brakes cool down. The OE brakes seem to have more staying power, although less grip than the Hawk's.

I guess a big brake kit (WilWood, Stoptech, Brembo, etc.) is in my future if I want to see any track time this year.

I took the Hawk's off last week, and measured them. I measured less a 1000th of an inch of wear after 6 weeks of heavy stop and go daily driving.
