Default Low Suspension Damaging Car?

Hey guys,
I have lowering springs on my z, red skunks, pretty damn low- when you look under the car you can see all the scratches and wearing damage from road bumps. other than ascetics, what kind of long term damage am I in danger of? thanks !

Those drop pretty low for springs, and nothing too major i don't believe. Just possible exhaust leaks from wearing through, and tweaking supports/chassis braces a bit. I know my Zs front cross support was a ***** to get off and back on when i replaced my compression rod bushings (which you will probably need being that low) because it was bend from being drug on stuff.

Alignment issues. causing tires to wear faster.
More stress on the suspension components which may lead to failure
Exhaust leaks/repairs
Able to destroy your oil pan

Just a well of problems if you ask me

is the investment in coilovers out of the question for you?

better handling and peace of mind. I've always viewed springs as a temporary step to coilovers.... See blown shock statement above.

What are coilovers going to do for her? What coilovers will improve handling vs springs with good shocks?

yes, good clarification. I suppose you just have to do a little research to make sure you get a good match of springs with the shocks.

Thank you for all the advise.
1st: wagered a car upgrade for the wing eating contest. um duh.
2nd: coilovers should kill two birds right? better handling and fix the height issue.

Just in case some of you didn't get the message, not all coilovers are improvement over oem. They are not magical devices that automatically improve handling. Please give a good spring/shock combo more credits.

You won against a guy. So either...
a) your guy eats like a squirrel
OR
b) you're a fatty. Maybe that's why you were scraping in the first place...
