Default SPL Suspension Upgrade!

I just got in some SPL suspension parts to fix the camber/toe adjustments for the front and rear. Can't wait to do some AutoX!

Awesome! SPL is def. the top of the line standard when it comes to suspension arms. I'm using their camber arms and rear diff bushings and both are more than adequate.

Random(ish) question:
I was reading on the suspension aspect of the the motoIQ project 350z. It seems they locked out the factory toe arm/spring bucket and are using the SPL camber arm in lieu of a traction rod to adjust toe?! I am reading this right or am I missing something. I have spl toe bolts but I don't like relying on them. I'm certainly not having custom springs made and buying their toe arm. It seems whatever they did would be an option for those with OEM spring locations but want beefier/reliable toe adjustment.

Kinda looks like that project died, I wouldn't doubt it if the car was crashed because the one of the rear arms broke.

One of the rear arms on the moto IQ project car. The way they aligned it will cause a huge bind in the travel.

I didn't realize they used an inverted camber arm in lieu of traction rod. I wonder why they didn't just use the adj. toe rod instead. I didn't know that the traction arm location COULD control toe.

It can, they locked out the spring bucket and adjusted toe with an adjustable traction arm (some companies market these as toe arms) and when you do this , you create a huge bind and parts break.

Or you could get the SPL adjustable length spring bucket arms.

They're pricey but def can't wait to get a hold of them to remove the last of the eccentric bolts and have adjust ability of the spring preload without buying full blown coil overs.

Yeah thats an option, but at over $1000 (factoring in new rear springs) at my level I just cant justify it. Track time is a priority right now and thats a few events. I have an extra set of SPL toe bolts, I'm toying with the idea of getting toe dialed in and then throwing a small tack weld where the head of bolt meets the degree plate. In theory I should still be able to remove the bolt easily enough and not have to worry about it slipping under load.

That would be an aluminum to steel weld.
