Default My general questions about airbag suspension..?

Hey guys,

I'm totally new here in term of a member. Been there previously but not posting...

I had to create an account because I couldn't find my answer to the question below. I've used the Search but didn't came to any results!

Can you help me out?

Before I buy an airbag suspension for my 2006 Z, I want to know. Here in Montreal (Quebec), we have HUUUUUUGE potholes, which is why I want to buy & install an airbag suspension. You know, so I can spare my 500$ lip & exhaust, Lol!

But every once a year, I do a road trip to the USA with my Z and I usually put my street wheels + tires for long road trips (increased security, don't wanna get stuck 1000 miles from where I live xd).

I have a kit of adjustable coilovers with street tires & street wheels. Is it possible after the airbag suspension has been installed, to be able to replace it JUST for the road trip with my coilovers & my wheels?

How much time would that take??? A day..?

And if I wanna put back my airbag suspension ON, do I need any adjustments or it's just a basic "bolt-on"?

I also go racing on weekends, which is why I need to be able to remove bags & use my coilovers instead. I go to shows too... ohhhh god -.-

So, how easy is it to remove bags, install coilovers, remove coilovers, reinstall bags. Can it be done 3-4 times per summer without any problem?

I've got my house garage to do the job with all tools you need, except a lift.

Thanks in advance !

I mean you could, but I don't see why you would want to. Airride should be fine for road trips and even tracking. Swapping regular coilovers can be a PITA, I wouldn't want to do that with airride, especially with the air lines, etc. If you're worried about leaks, a quality bag and proper installation/components should not fail you. If you're gonna cheap out, don't go airride. Make sure you have a water trap. IMO not worth the trouble.

Keeps the water out of your system. If you don't have one in between your tank and air lines , water gets in and will eventually cause problems
