Naive question about performance street pads.

I'm considering buying a low mileage G37S 6MT coupe. Its got the OEM big brake kit....I think they are Akebono???
I track my Z and I'm familiar with the benefits of true racing brake pads. I use Carbotechs. The performance benefits are obvious and their unsuitability for general street use is obvious too (noisy, grinding, dusty).
But is there really any benefit to performance street pads? I know what the marketing says but is there any real reason to replace the OEM pads on the G37 with something like Hawk HPS or comparable?

Yes the g37 is akebono brakes.
If you are just doing dd driving I wouldn't change the pads. Waste of money imo. I got stoptech brakes when I bought the rotors and still haven't installed them until I need to change the brakes.
If you are doing for track use then you could buy it if u want.

With brakes that big, operating temperature will likely never exceed the design parameters. I have a few cars with OEM big brakes sized roughly like the Akebono and they never fade. I thought about upgrading the pads a notch, but couldn't justify it.
