Default Cleaning coilovers

I just picked up some used h&r coilovers. I'm looking to clean them up before install. I've read some threads on other forums of people spraying them down with wd40 then wiping them clean. I just want to see what you guys recommend.

Depends on how dirty your used units are. Most dampers can be cleaned using a degreaser, but be careful of getting any near the adjustment ***** or windows. Wiping them down with WD40 also sounds OK for mild dirt.

I really don't like WD on the thread, if you use it, clean it off. I usually just wipe mine done with a dry rag, just to knock the crud off.

Looks like you picked up the coilovers I shared on Zen.

Fellow H&R coilover owner checking in . Seems to be an uncommon setup on this forum.
