Default Got a Quote for Changing LCA Bushings

I called a local high performance shop and asked for a quote on changing both bushings on a pair of LCA's.
Told the guy I had new LCA's and new bushings so it is a given the car won't needto be touched just the pieces I bought.

He told me around $212 since it'll be around 2 hours of work, now does it really take 2 hours to change 4 bushings on arms that are not on a car?

Either he misunderstood and thought the arms had to be removed or i'm really clueless when it comes to changing bushings.

I know the old ones have to be pressed out and the new ones pressed in with a shop press, the only reason im looking for a shop to do it.

I didn't realize it could actually take 2 hours, that means 15 minutes to press out and 15 minutes to press in? Repeated 4 times makes it 2 hours, is it really that tedious?

So can you give a rough idea of how long it should take to just change the bushings?
Or is that out of your knowledge?

I told him I had new arms and bought new bushings to change them before I put them on the car, don't see how he misunderstood?

So my judgment isn't that bad then, what made it even worse is I asked a buddy who works at Ford what I asked here and he didn't disagree with the quote nor time estimated.

San Antonio, there's a local shop here called R&N Garage that specializes in the Z series i'm going to give them a call tomorrow and be very specific see what they tell me.

One hour plus tax would be fair off the car. If he thinks they are still on the car, two shop hours is quite reasonable.

Time it would take if they were on the car is not what i'm looking for since I have completely new arms and bushings off the car.
Just want the new whiteline bushings on the lca's before I put them on.

Alright sounds good, thanks.

Yeah two things that are slightly off about that, I'm not paying $212 for that ever, and I don't drink lol.

I'd rather have someone else just change the bushings I'll put on the LCA's.

There's actually a DIY floating around where a guy makes a custom "press socket" you could call it, uses a strong screw a bolt, socket, ratchet, does all this fancy hoopla and seemed pretty useful.

Yeah, I've read the same thing often all over haha.
But it can be done without a press so I'm sure I can do it.
