Anyways, OP, yes, you can easily lower a Nismo using a good set of lowering springs. However....
The Nismo Z comes with a fairly optimized suspension (Yamaha designed shocks (built by Tokico, thanks Dean ), Nismo design springs, and as corner balanced as you're going to find in a stock car off the showroom floor). I personally push my Niz as fast as - if not faster - than my '03 on suspension and with less drama and contortions than the '03 as well.
So.... if you gotta do it for appearance's sake, try to keep the spring rates matching the factory set up to preserve the handling and to avoid what Trav said, overworking the stock shocks - as good as they are - by trying to keep up with increased spring rates. Personally don't feel I'm equipped well enough to second guess Nismo/Nissan engineers.
Just my opine.
