Default How to jack up car for endlink replacement

Hey all, I have to replace my rear endlinks on my 07' base. I was wondering if anyone knows a link to a tutorial on the replacement and if anyone has any tips.

I am specifically wondering where to jack it up. I have heard that the axle will fall down once I disconnect each endlink. I also have heard to just jack the car up on the frame like normal.

thanks

If you only have 2 jackstands, simply raise the car one end at a time. The suspension will not drop any further when you pull the endlinks off, as they are not the limiting factor, the shocks are.

The only problem I've had with replacing endlinks is keeping the damn nuts tight. If you're using OEM parts, make sure to use new nuts (from the dealer), as they are special lock nuts. If aftermarket, you may have to use some Blue Locktite.

I have a jack and 3 jack stands. Should I put the third under the shock or will it not move? I'm kind of a newby in terms of repairs, learning as I go.

Youll be fine. I just pulled mine the other day. The endlinks are the only thinkng holding the car together. The hardest part will probably getting leverage to losen/tighten the nut.

Just do one side at a time... Take off wheel should be good to go.. Use jack and jackstand to hold car up... Might need to use jack to push up on suspension to get the new ones on.

The easiest way to do it is front or rear, not one side or the other. As long as both front (or rear) wheels are hanging at full travel, there will be no tension on the endlinks and they'll be easy to remove/install. If you do it left or right, you have to fight the tension on the sway bar and the compression on the springs.
