Cheap eBay banana arms
Why not just buy new whiteline or spl bushings for your oem arms?
I recently bought the ebay(dorman) version of those arms.. I would either buy new oem, or used oem and get new bushings. That's just me though.
Here is the issue I had with them~

What he^ said, and because those arms come with a crap balljoint.
To have fitment variances is pretty extreme, but not surprising considering today's aftermarket chassis marketplace. If you buy bottom of the barrel anything is possible. Cant even really rely on metal these days, even that is suspect in almost all cheap parts.
Buy OEM used or new.

Thanks for the advice. I was wary of the price of those eBay parts.
I did consider just buying bushings but the garage said the ball joints probably won't be in the best condition after 12 years and 39k miles.
One of the part suppliers I spoke too suggested moog parts but I haven't heard of them.
Oem are twice the price (£250 each), but I'm thinking that's the best route.

Unless the boot is all torn up id be willing to bet the joint is fine (though your UK roads may be an x factor). Most ive seen are fine at over 100k and beyond. Keep in mind the LCA joint does not carry the same load as the lower BJ, so it sees much less wear. As long as there is no play in the joint it is fine and you can just press in new bushings.
