Default Nismo Suspension and tire feathering

so, couple problems.

I put the Nismo stuff on myself, and Nissan even told me over the phone that they are considered an OEM part, and I do NOT have to have a dealer isntall it to still be under warranty.

a) My dealer seems to disagree on this and doesn't want to do anything about my tire feathering (10,600 miles) because of it, and:

b) the dealer says they can't align it anyway cause the car is now too low (20 mm drop?) for their alighment machine. I naturally asked them how they would install the nismo stuff (which they sell) if it lowers the car too much? They're getting back to me.

So, has anyone with the nismo suspension had their car aligned at the dealer? Can any of you guys at a nissan place give me your POV and a heads up? I was really hoping I'd get it aligned (and really hoping to get some new front tires) before the trackday this friday....

They're full of it. I've had my car aligned at my dealer with the S Tune shocks and springs on. They had no problems.

I can't believe there are dealers that are so uneducated on their own products and capabilities. How do they stay in business???

So I guess Nismo Suspension does not fix tire feathering.

Are you close enough to let us have a look at your car? 210/605 Freeways in Duarte (pasadena). From what we've found the S-tune has done away with the tire issue so maybe it's just not had a good alignment yet????? Also, installing an S-Tune at a dealer SHOULD include a 4 wheel alignment in the installation cost, if you installed it yourself, which is fine, you will more than likely have to pay to have it realigned. Also did this S-tune come from a dealer so it could be matched to your Vin# for warranty reasons? If not and it's a grey market part...... call me 626-305-3000 we'll talk.

I have the full Nismo suspension package, and my dealer here in Atlanta recently did an alignment for me. Have not had tire feathering in the past 15K+ miles. Whoever you talked to at your dealer is BS-ing you.

However, they did tell me that with my Nsimo wheels that they could not do an alignment becuase they were afraid that the machine might scratch up the wheels due to the offset. I just put my stock wheels back on and they did the alignment.

this is sort of what might be happening at your dealership. when i first got my Z they could not work on the alignment because there equipment was missing some of the parts neccesary to handle the 18" wheel. So they sent me out, and paid for, an off dealership alignment shop to fix it. Then, after they got the parts they have taken care of the problems (or tried to!)

Ok, well, they said they can't do it on their machine cause it's older, but two of their newer dealerships should be able to do it.

Unfortunately, the track day is Friday, and while I think Duarte is on the way up, not sure there'd be time to get the work done, since I wouldn't be able to get up there until the afternoon...
